I disagree. I still think an artist in their 60s with no radio play and a sadly ageist society these sales aren’t bad at all. Her core audience is Europe, regardless of a USA no 1.
Disagree with what?

Where is this American Life disdain coming from? I thought it was a lost classic?

And Bruce falls only 2 positions to 3. She lost her fanbase in UK. Unbelievable.
Funny how, if the album was released this week, it would have been number 1. But oh well, I'm past caring, the album is great, she got a US number 1, we've got a tour to look forward to so, yeah.
Copied this from Popjustice.

Really? Gun Control ( the legislation desired ) is not about BAN guns to everyone is about having the correct law and process in places so the correct and trained people are the only one with guns .. her guards will always going to be armed !! they are profesionals and that's their work. ..... and so and so and so ..
semi automatic guns dont belong to ordinary people .... That's is part of the TALK that the USA Congress have to TALK and WALK
everybody is entittle to their opinion but please ... read and get informed before write these kind of comments !
I think Samo was flushed earlier.

This is very true and actually has been for a while now! As long as she's producing quality like MX though, I think this is something we kind of need to get over at this point. I understand with someone like M who pretty much dominated the charts for 30 yrs it's a bitter pill to swallow but I think it's something we as a fanbase need to sort of move past because......it's not getting any easier from here on that front.
Time to fine tune expectations and celebrate the smaller victories.....not that a #2 album in UK or #1 album in US is a "small victory".....that's pretty fucking major for anyone now. As far as single success goes though, that ship has sailed. Hopefully, next era expectations won't be as unrealistic.
It is strange to think her singles don't make much impact anymore, especially when she always effortlessly got a hit in the UK up to Celebration, but things have changed, streaming has turned the charts upside down, and Interscope literally distribute the product as bare minimal as possible. It's not just Madonna though, Pet Shop Boys, Kylie, Janet, Depeche Mode, even Bruce etc, have no charting top 40 singles in the past few years (except Dancing, which was due to a major push, and literally scraped number 40), but... their albums do sell, and quite well, which means there is still a big fan base, who will buy the album on the day of release.
Like you, at this point, my main focus is simply on the amazing album we have just received, the beautiful visuals, and an exciting new tour upon us.

I love the video but her hypocrisy is pretty crazy
Her guards are ARMED, she used to kill pigeons for sport with GUNS while married to Guy Ritchie in the early 2000s, she has glamorized guns, as well as almost every rapper that she's worked with, herself many times. Revolver... Gang Bang....
She has a photo of Angela Davis on her wall, Davis was part of the old school Black Panthers and was armed all the time, even shooting at people in a courtroom...
She said she woke up, is that not enough?

Radio 2 is great. The music they play is so diverse and you hear some really random songs. It's not like it was and it's pitched at us forties types. I've discovered so many great songs both old and new there. I've heard Billie Eilish, Janelle Monae and Lizzo on there too.
So much better than the car crash of radio 1.
I agree, I discover lots of gems on Radio 2, Shazam is in use quite a lot. I discovered Bananarama's new single on Radio 2 is an absolute bop just the other day, I was reluctant to listen to them before this.

The track list is perfect as it is.
Agreed, the albums flows perfectly from start to finish for me, I couldn't imagine it any other way, except maybe the inclusion of Ciao Bella. Where as, I struggled listening to Rebel Heart track list, as it's so uneven and jarring, I could never perfect that ideal track list, there'd be good songs left off purely because they didn't "fit the vibe", and I'd feel bad for leaving them off.

Congrats Queen! This is so well deserved, great album.

If she made a song like HP with Maluma then it would get a lot more views. But she didnt and gladly so. Maluma fans and GP couldnt catch on.
Faz Gostoso is doing well and will do well because it sounds what Anitta fan would love from her although done very well and inovatively.
Hanky Panky??

It's hard to be excited for number one when that was only achieved through ticket bundles and fans buying multiple copies...
Can we get a flush please? 2 posts and already off to a negative start.

I’ve been hammering the album all week but I’d like a few more days before I make up my mind, songs are still growing on me. Today it was Bitch I’m Loca.

I loved her explanation for Dark Ballet, burning saints and then praising them when they’re gone “we need to stop doing that”.

Exactly! I thought to song and album had been reassessed and now considered up there with her best.
