I’d like to think that this is Madame X’s final mission and she ends up in Medellin with a hot guy and they live happily ever after riding their horses and loving each other!
That’s great. I took it as this is just her fantasy and she is actually still “trapped” in that church. But this is just my first watch.

The toe licking must be repeated at the live performance. It will be the moment of the night.

I don't dislike it, I love the chorus very much, but I am sure this is happening because of the verses: they are too slow compared to the chorus and bridge. It's like a disconnection of the track. But anyway, hope that the 2nd single will be stronger. Maybe this is a strategy.
I hear the disconnect as intentional. Her verses are her reflecting, and everything else is the fantasy playing out. So she reflects and the pace is kind of slow, kind of nostalgic, but playful... and then it’s like we are swept away in the fantasy, he comes in, ready to wow her and the song picks up, building into the joyous chorus, and her sweet memory of the 1-2 cha cha (which is why it’s whispered, almost like it is her secret key to that fantasy/memory)... You’ll notice that many reviews point out that this is too sophisticated to classify it as “just” being a reggaeton song, and I think they are right.
I deleted your first sentence about your friends from the quote above because seriously no one cares. It’s tiresome. It’s hearsay. That’s the point imo, not that you can’t say anything that’s not pro Madonna.

Maluma said he went to studio with her last year in London. And she said in the most recent interview that while she and Mirwais worked on the track Maluma would send notes and suggestions. It's not just that he was in Medellín since the beginning, but Medellín only exists because of him as it was always a Madonna-Maluma track.
That makes a lot of sense. The track seems quite literally how I would feel after meeting Maluma too .
And that’s why it feels genuine. A true collaboration.

Medellin was on that board that she posted by mistake on insta, right? And was that post before or after the VMAs? Trying to figure out if there is a chance there is a Madonna-solo version of this song out there somewhere. Seems like it, given that Maluma didn’t make it to the studio till a February.
Still have it on repeat. Still an excellent song.

Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes....

i find it childish, but the same time very adult and true. accepting the existence your problems, in other words.
Spot on. Particularly since the line that follows (dancing in the rain....) propels her into either a fantasy or a liberating moment...

I heard the video playing in Times Square is 100% true!! That would really boost the song...
I bet SO many people will notice Maluma AND Madonna and check the song out!!

I wonder when we'll get the first official remixes - and who has made them?
In the meantime, here's an unofficial remix by Stormby:
In the words of Aristotle, yaaas Queen!

The Blaze, who she follows, would add great drama while keeping the track dreamy. But my guess is they’ve been enlisted for the disco/dance single. They are one of the most exciting electronic bands around. And they have street cred.

One minor point....Kevin antunes. I don't like his band for the last few tours since everything doenst sound live and more from cd with some bits and pieces played live. I was hoping for a new band now she was/is living in europe for the new album.
It’s not minor! Are you sure? that “band” is a career low-point.

I still don’t understand where iTunes is showing any of this.

I think this song is magical. There is a story that’s sweet and sexy and relatable (definitely easier to connect to if you understand both Spanish and English), and a whole vibe to match.
I’m not sure she’s ever put out a song that better embodies her idea that music, like love, can transcend language and cultures.
This is a song you fall in love to.
Very excited about what’s to come.

I wish he "Si te enamoro en menos de un año los dos..." bit was included in the radio edit before the second verse as it's the part where people usually go "Oh ok now I get it".
Agreed. For radio having the first chorus after two minutes and the second chorus after almost four minutes is way too much. Fingers crossed!

Maybe a remix, maybe a single edit?

I do wonder if something is coming this weekend. It feels strange with such great promo to let a whole week go by between song and video release, especially when there is a weekend in the middle.

Does anyone think there might be a lyric video between now and the MTV video release?
I was just about to say that it’s unfortunate they’ll wait a week to release the video. The momentum is now. A lyric video on Friday would make quite a bit of sense! Fingers crossed.

Wow I don’t she’s sounded so relaxed and genuine in a long time. Ugh love all of this.
“Doesn’t leave the studio until the work is done.” Lol she’s looking at you, Timbaland, Timberlake, Benassi, Diplo, etc....

What a great promo. Feels like in the good old days.
It does feel like other creatives are actually excited to contribute their own artistry into this project. That ad has more work put into it than any other M promo I’ve seen in a decade. It’s wonderful.

Very interesting. I had no idea what to make of that scene either. I wanted more! Yeah, maybe it is what you say. At first I thought she was both the one on the ground and the rider (DAD reference), but then I realized it’s Maluma.
