These reviews have me so excited. A lot of you guys are talking about how glad you are that its experimental. MY question is: is it still catchy? Are there some classic Madonna bops in there? Songs I'll be humming and dancing to at midnight in my room? Is the SONGCRAFT as tight as it was (I wince) pre- Hard Candy?

Yes, it is. But in the Mirwais way. Less loyalty to structure. The Starrah/ Dean songs are pretty different too. Melodies are there. It’s just not very conventional at all.

its basically like Erotica and Music. Has a few hit-friendly songs in it, but even those are really adventurous.

Well, I INTENDED on waiting til Friday but the reviews here got the best of me.

I'm pretty much at a loss for words at this point for any sort of full review. All I can say to those that haven't listened yet is you're not ready for this. I feel like those fans that are especially in love with '92-'03 era Madonna will really appreciate this album. This is bold, fresh, new, exciting.....a very hungry and inspired Madonna.....I don't think anyone will be able to dispute that this time (that seemed to be a big argument past few albums). I really hate the term "return to form" because she's never really lost form for me BUT....she has those "special" moments and this is one of them. Despite being so diverse, this album manages to create one very distinctive atmosphere.....no album has been like that since COADF for me. Like it just takes you into it's own little separate world. I'm just absolutely stunned at the quality of work she has delivered this time.

    See? I told you guys.

There's no denying it. This is nothing like the last 3 albums. The last time she sounded like this was Confessions. Period.

The lack of promo in the US is weird given that this is the week the album comes out.

Its the country where she has the majority of tour shows.

....and all that’s happening this week is a Today show interview?  It’s weird.

Who really cares though. I don't think promo really works anymore. No one watches TV. It's all about the internet and social media. Creating "viral" moments (ugh I hate that stupid overused word but you know what I mean) is what sells albums now. Not Good Morning America. Literally no one cares lol

I'm in awe. Her best since Music for me. I don't like to drag down her last couple of albums while elevating this one but, really, when was the last time an album of hers sounded this fresh and bold? It doesn't sound like anything that's out there, it's really experimental yet so catchy at the same time. She really set another high bar for herself.

    I agree with you 100%

Thats why I said earlier, this is a game changer for her. None of us really had reactions this much in consensus with Rebel Heart. I can't remember the MDNA reaction. The HC reaction I remember well. Her last 3 albums have been really polarizing for fans. I can't see a scenario where this one is divisive like those. It's every Madonna fan's fantasies come true. Something for everyone. Even Bitch I'm Loca is fun and cute.

It's a fucking masterpiece. The marriage of Music and Erotica.

    It’s torture!!!

But it gets me so excited, I can’t believe all the praise I read here, seems to good to be true. Please please please don’t you all lie to me, I want to believe the hype, I need every word to be REAL.

It's real. This is not like Rebel Heart, MDNA, or Hard Candy. I can't put it any other way, it's Madonna back to being hungry and creative. It's just not what you expect. Throw expectations out the window, you're never going to know what you're in for.

I'm just reading DIAGONALLY though, honestly u hussies rare getting me pumped, It make me feel like a wet virgin waiting desperately 2 get fucked.

:lmao:Yeah this album is kinda like that. It slaps you in the face like a huge cack

I think a lot of us fans maybe had a sneaking suspicion that Madonna's creative curiosity had run dry in terms of her music (I admit, my mind went there a lot), this album is the perfect smug answer to that clearly wrong suspicion. This is her most innovative work since 2000-2002 (Music, Die Another Day)

Never been this very very ecstatic after listening to a M album since Confessions On A Dance Floor.

I agree. I have this really vivid memory of me listening to COADF. Get Together, in the car, for the first time. I was only 19. Listening to Madame X has felt like that. It's that special moment where you're moved by music.

I know I agree it does seem odd they held back the albums best songs for promotion.

But Medellin and Crave were picked for streams.....Madonna obviously wanted God Control as the lead she shot that video first long before everything else but the strategy changed.

It was really foolish to not lead with both Medellin and God Control. But, maybe they really do have something up their sleeve this time. There's something very odd about the 1) very cinematic shots from the Madame X intro video, 2) Madonna saying she was up all night filming  back to back videos in the NYTimes interview  3) the fact that she's got a video out for Dark Ballet (and she's not even in it), and 4) God Control being shot months ago but for some reason waiting in the wings.

Could be a video album. Idk, wishful thinking lol

OMG I'm so excited, but I have to wait till SATURDAY 🤬

You're going to love it. Her team is insane releasing songs like Crave and I Rise and Future to preview the album, not that they're not good songs and they fit in VERY well with the album. Crave is a good single but I Rise & Future do not tell any sort of story about this album. Medellin and Dark Ballet definitely do, those were good choices.

But when you hear the others you're going to be like okay WHAT? Why were they hiding this from us?!

Faz Gostoso Come Alive and OMG ESPECIALLY God Control & I Don't Search I Find ... it's like fireworks, I can't believe it
