I fully support her being part of any event that can be enjoyed by millions and recognizing her as the legend she is, rather than giving those spots to copycats who usually end up taking her place.

And yes, they spend some money for football in underdeveloped areas of the world. Like Africa. How nice of FIFA. Well, one thing is for sure, all those African member states will vote gladly for Infantino the next time he is up for president. There is only one solution to end all the corruption. In fact it's relatively easy. All major football nations, in Europe, add Argentina, Brazil and some more, simply found a new body and leave FIFA. FIFA will be done. No one will care for their "World Cup". As rude as it sounds, no one gives a f*ck about football in Africa or Asia. Not even people there. They watch European leagues.

Well, it seems like a win-win situation. You buy a ticket to the stadium and know that $1 will go to improve access to education in disadvantaged areas of the world. You enjoy the game and know you've done a good deed. Tickets are selling, we'll never know how many more they've purchased for that specific purpose.

Of course, slavery and medieval social norms were not helpful either. And let's not forget that they had to move the cup to winter because in summer it is way too hot to play. Because of that all football leagues had to interrupt their regular seasons.

If you did, you would know, that none of the discussion here is about Donald Trump or the World Cup in the first place. In this particular case there is no selctive moral outrage. Some other poster here said, getting involved with FIFA is like performing for a dictator. To a certain degree, I do agree.

I must admit, I was a bit iffy about Qatar and totally understood the backlash, you are going into a country that absolutely doesn’t share the values of most of the other entries onto the World Cup, it was a bitter pill to swallow. I can’t remember who performed there now but I know they were criticised because of the countries horrendous Islamic laws that do not equal the equality in other countries competing in the World Cup. You are right on that point, David Beckham got a ton of shit for going abd reporting on it as a commentator, because he was on the front cover of attitude magazine and campaigning for gay rights and then he goes there. So I take your point, but that was about where it was held, this time it’s in America and Madonna is American of course she wouldn’t perform in Qatar!

Madonna’s had shady associations before, we all know about the blessed Kabbalah Centre and the corruption there with fictional money and cooking up the books, yet she still bank rolled it all in the name of enlightenment. She must have an inkling those rabbis see her as a never ending purse, but maybe she’s trying to see the better side? Maybe she’s trying to see the better side of FIFA as well. I appreciate 100 million is a drop in the ocean for FIFAs profits BUT the charitable donations to help educate and bring football to children of the world as part of this years World Cup is totally something Madonna would favour, it’s in line with her own ethos of charity’s such as her ROL foundation & Raising Malawi. #JustSaying

M's response to the war in Gaza was great. She acknowledged the suffering on both side and promoted Palestinian and Israeli NGOs that support peace. This is so much smarter and human and pragmatic instead of 99% of the celebrity performative social media posts that suggest nothing helpful beside encouraging hatred for one side.
