This isn't the world I want to see her in but whatevs. Sure it'll be a spectacle!

Same. I’m a football fan myself. I think M and football don’t really go together. Two worlds. Football fans can be nice, but mostly, on club level, it’s complicated.

I just hope this will go well. Pray that the final is Argentina vs Brazil or so…

Come on this is fantastic! Great exposure to a huge audience.

Every big organisation like FIFA is questionable but it would be highly hypocritical to call out just this one.

And it’s for a good cause. There won‘t be any negativity about it.

Totally.💯

I am NOT defending FIFA as an organisation but theres plenty more at it as well, and ones Madonna has performed at/involved with, where do you draw the line?

I don’t think many fans know about Coachella, I mentioned it weeks ago when Madonna was rumoured to be going back to it but the owners have plenty of blood on their hands and have used profits to fund anti LGBTQ+ movement in America for years and years. A quick google search tells you everything.

I would go one further and we could bring in the dear old Kabbalah centre and their shady history of money laundering and all the rest of it.

None of them are christ on earth

That’s not the point. They are actively against it ( me included tbh), because it’s just one more annoying step towards total sellout and of course even higher ticket prices.

I’m curious if we’ll hear new songs or if she comes with a classic. If there’s three acts, I guess it’s not more than one proper song for each?

So I take it bts represent Asia shakira represents South America and Latin countries and Madonna represents the mother Fucking world

I hear what you are saying but the prices for the World Cup final couldn’t get any more expensive 🤣 they are absolutely off the charts those ridiculous prices!

But for people who love football and watch the World Cup games it’s worth it.

But it’s all a massive money making racket, but isn’t it all? Touring is the same, outrageous prices but if fans are willing to pay then they will be charged…… 😉

I think Madonna will be on stage for a classic & a new song and will probably only have about 6 minutes maximum.

BUT

Im sure it will be the best 6 minutes of her career 🪩

Well let’s not rely on M’s moral compass.
let’s just enjoy what we get.

Huge news to wake up to!!!

Would also be the perfect time for a tour announcement.... Although there still hasn't been any rumoured venues yet?

Whats next? Hanging her out to dry for being married to Sean Penn?

Come on now!

This is a massive opportunity to play a new song to literally THE FUCKING WORLD it couldn’t come at a better time!

Let the lights shine and let Madonna sing one of her new bangers for CII and let the world know the Queen of Pop is fucking back !!!!! 😍

Her streams will go through the God Damn roof the day after the final they’ll be over a BILLION people watching !!!

Thats what I thought!

What better timing than to announce the tour the day after the whole world has watched her performance!

Another stroke of marketing genius for this era! 🤩

I don't like FIFA, but then again the whole world is either playing or watching. They were also calls to boycott Met Gala but everybody showed up and the press coverage was huge. Btw, Spain and the Netherlands boycotted Eurovision but their teams will be there for the FIFA World Cup.

Great news! So, if it’s a 15 min halftime show with two other artists, I’m guessing she’ll have around 7 mins max? That’s two songs. One from Confessions II and and a classic perhaps. Maybe the classic will be Hung Up and they’ll announce the Confessions Tour after the performance.

Don’t be ridiculous.  FIFA is a massive, global organization that takes bribes from countries that don’t respect human rights…even athletes and respected sports journalists have questioned the validity of the organization in recent times. This is no different than one of the divas taking a check from the Ghadaffi family to play at a wedding.
We’ve always called out performers on this forum in that situation.

But that’s 👍 because it’s a stroke of marketing genius and …ooooh she might get a chart placing out of it.

I see you.

I don’t deny FIFA is shady as fuck, David Beckham was quite rightly hung, drawn & quartered when he went to Qatar to report on it after years of aligning himself with LGBTQ+ so I absolutely know the reputation of FIFA.

What I was saying is, and I’ll be be blunt here and spell it out (respectfully of course) is that Madonna has been directly involved with many cooperations that don’t exactly align with her own ethos. Coachella and it’s outrageous history of funding anti-LGBTQ+ organisations in America, her on going bank of Madonna to the Kabbalah Centre which has been investigated for money laundering and more financial fiction than Elton Johns has bought wigs.

But where do you draw the line? Where is the moral compass pointing to, is it a tier system of how many people that particular organisation has hurt? How much bad press they have received? Corruption is corruption is it not?

I was just making the point Madonna’s association with the murky shades of showbiz paths is not squeaky clean, it’s hard for any public figure, especially an entertainer to keep off the path of corruption because it literally leaks out of every leading organisations arseholes of the world today.

Madonna also lives in a bubble so what she reads/gets told and choices she then makes can depend on a multitude of things.

I am simply pointing out this isn’t Madonna’s first rodeo associating with a controversial organisation.

Apologies if I reacted so strongly, it’s not personal. It just struck a chord in me,

I think this is huge! I can't keep up with the amazing news everyday, we are so lucky! I hope it is an amazing performance visually and vocally, i'd even take pre-recorded vocals like the SuperBowl to be on the safe side to avoid the Eurovision drama. 🤣

No apology necessary but thank you. You are right in your analysis of FIFA but I think there’s a level of corruption absolutely everywhere.

GAGGED. This is an incredible booking, the global reach eclipses any US centered awards show.

This. But I do get where Acko is coming from too. End of the day making money is always top of their priority list no matter how much we want to read into her messages about saving the world. Let's be real.

Hmmm. Madonna and football intersected a few times in the past. Remember the 1990 World Cup? She watched host Italy play against England for 3rd place According to rumors, she was there to root for her lover, the Roman god Roberto Baggio. 😁 Perhaps the evergreen wannabes here can fill in more info re M's attendance in WC matches. Then of course, she transplanted herself and family to Portugal, partly in support of David's soccer dreams.

Yeh and plus she is very much a football family now, she encouraged David to play and now her daughters play and she is regularly seen going to watch Chelsea FC play !

I do understand where some fans are coming from, unlike Shakira, maybe Madonna is seen as too gay for football? And further more she is back with her gayest album since CII, maybe that’s some of the eye brow raising.

I say it all with love and loosely as she is a music legend but I do agree, she’s not exactly a footie crowd favourite.

But

She knows exactly how to put on a sensational show, and I’m sure she will take one of her new solo bangers from CII to perform along with LAP which every fucker knows inside & outside of FOOTBALL so that will please the crowd!

Sorry, but this is quite different. Madonna does not do weddings.

My bet is Madonna will sing a new song with a little bit of a classic.

BTS also something from their new album.

Shakira the new official WC song.

Then all together with an universal classic (Like a Prayer would be a good choice but maybe something from Coldplay since Chris Martin is "curating" the show)

The show looks to raise $100 USD million to expand access to quality education and football for children around the world.

Sounds cool if the headliners can cram all 3 songs within an 15-minute musical extravaganza. If M is asked to sing a classic, my safest bet would be either LIB or LAP. Music is also fine as one fab member suggested.

Or maybe she can revisit or rework her Live Aid '85 peace song: LMTWGR. 😂

Do you realize the magnitude of exposure this album is getting, the marketing and promotion on this album is outrageous,

We are so lucky she is big big big big !!!!

I was talking about the crowds each of those phenomenons draw. It’s not the 80s anymore where the tifosi go to see the WTG tour.

ANYWAY - I’m looking forward to what she will bring, hoping this time around, she won’t set a trend.

I honestly would love it if she dared to be very explicit and political, to piss MAGA off. I’m rooting for this.

Noooooo! As a Brazilian I say such an encounter could unleash unknown powers! Even though I'm not a soccer fan, I would never wish 🇧🇷x🇦🇷
