runa Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I still don't know what to say, honestly - I'm just so blown away, it's crazy. How is it possible, after so many years, being surprised once again? I'm trying not to judge this album too quickly because, right now, I'd honestly give it a 12/10. There's no song I dislike. Not once I want to skip. I don't know how many times I cried listening to it - and not only the 1st time. This album is so personal, so moving, you can hear it comes from her heart and bones. Highights for me : I FEEL SO FREE ONE STEP AWAY LOVE SENSATION LOVE WITHOUT WORDS BIZARRE BETRAYAL This album is such a journey, from start to finish. Absolutely perfect. Quote

I don’t understand how y’all aren’t getting the feeels from “the test” I can’t even say the songs….i love the most… I thought I’d love the dance stuff more than the emotional ending tracks… but FRAGILE?!!!!! I couldn’t believe! in terms of the dance tracks “one step away” is as close to perfection as a dance/pop track can be! “everything fades away” is such a ending Quote

Sokrates5 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Very good album, several standout tracks (Danceteria and Bizarre being the best new tracks), but of course there are some questionable choices (Betrayal, L.E.S Girl) which shouldn’t have made the album, at least not in their present form. Very happy with it overall. 4/5 reviews are justified, in my opinion. Quote

Pink Elephants Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I stayed up late last night listening to C2. OMG, I think it will go down in history as one of her greatest albums. It is phenomenal! I think the latter half is actually better than the half we heard before the release. My top two at the moment are Fragile and Betrayal. I am more partial to the melancholy and vulnerable Madonna. I think this is where she truly shines. As a pianist, the Erik Satie sample in Betrayal absolutely floored me. It is used so cleverly. I had Fragile on repeat, and it gave me all the feels. I recently lost a family member to suicide, and the songs speak so much about how people can struggle through life. As a lifelong Madonna fan, I can confidently say that Confessions II is a masterpiece. Quote

The second half took a few listens, but now the slower songs have made their way into my soul and won't let go. And don't get me started on how mesmerizing she sounds on My Sins, Betrayal, and Les Girl. I didn't think we would ever get those vocals again. Well, I don't think I've ever heard her Les Girl voice. I can't rank the songs right now; I guess I need more time with the album. But Bizarre, Betrayal, OSA, and Les Girl will probably remain in the top 5 for the next few months. Still struggling with Everything, though. Wonder if it'll grow on me. But what a triumph. So well deserved. Quote

When Everything came in I got floored right away and only got up atvthe end of the album.
