Kilt Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Top 5: 1. Betrayal 2. Fragile 3. Everything 4. Danceteria 5. One Step Away I'm a sucker for her ballads which is ironic since this album is the supposed heir of COADF. Anyway, both Betrayal and Fragile have been tugging at my heart incessantly. Quote
Geiger83 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I am on my second listen and need some more time, but this album right now is EASILY on my top 5. I think I may like it more than I like CI Stand-Outs/ Surprises: Everything, Love Without Words, My Sins are My Saviour, Read My Lips. Finally being able to listen to Good for the Soul, One Step Away and Danceteria in full was AMAZING Quote
Lolo Posted July 3 Posted July 3 When is the grown ups version with proper track length coming out? It needs build ups, and definitely more dance/instrumental breaks. Streaming be damned! In case I wasn’t clear: I love this album. another career highlight! Quote

toujours Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Since midnight, I have listened to C2 at least 7 times. Had my Spotify playing while I slept for 3 hrs. My current top 5: 1.5) Fragile - 11 / 10 1.5) My Sins Are My Saviour - 11 / 10 3) L.E.S. Girl - 10 / 10 4) Danceteria - 10 / 10 5) Bizarre - 9 / 10 Quote
Geiger83 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I am still processing how good the second half of the album is. Everything, specially between RML and MSAMS, is absolutely fantastic Quote

Geiger83 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 No ranking possible yet for me, but Everything, Love Without Words, School and My Sins Are My Savior went straight to my Madonna top tracks of all time. How is this possible, 45 years into her career????? Quote
Shut Your Mouth Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 On my 2nd listen now. 12/10! Once I come down to earth it will be a 10/10. I hadn’t even heard a lot of the songs at all till today and some only heard part of them from the film. I’m already singing along to them! Quote
Sanctuary1995 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Not that these little chunks of poo r even worth mentioning but the first little monster reviews are in - what freaks of nature! Quote

smirnoff_ice Posted July 3 Posted July 3 My second listen also - how f'ing amazing is this album - every song!! For me no skips, the production, melodies, transitions, emotions OMG. I hate poo pooing previous albums when a new album comes out, but I defo prefer this to Confessions 1. BTW does anyone know where @Confessit II is ? He's disappeared at the most exciting time!! Quote
johndvd25 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 my top 10 1. love sensation 2. bizarre 3. bring your love 4. love without words 5. school 6. my sins are my savior 7. danceteria 8. everything 9. les girl 10. i feel so free Quote
Benjl1993 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 After sleeping on it and a few more listen throughs I think I'm confident in saying this is her next masterpiece for me. I didn't think she would ever be able to do it again, but she has. Has a legacy pop artist ever produced an album of this quality 45 years into their career?! She's untouchable. Quote

Selena Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Wow...I’m speechless... happy... and hungry to listen to it again and again! This album proves once more Madonna’s talent for creating music; no one makes music quite like Madonna! I’ve only listened to the album once so far. Here are my current favorites—not in any particular order of preference, as I can’t yet say which one is the best based on just a single listen. - One Step Away - Danceteria - Read My Lips (This was so good! I didn't like it at first) - Everything - Bizarre (God, this is so good!) - Love Without Words - School (This is so cool!) - Fragile (Beautiful) - My Sins Are My Savior (F****g AMAZING) - Betrayal (This is so touching!) - The Test (Love this!) jpop Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Love it to so much, so much to say about it, so much to digest, so much to discover. Betrayal, is incredible, love everything about it, I wonder if there was a Madame X demo at first ? The Erik Satie part is used so beautifully. Performed by Madonna Produced by Madonna, Stuart Price and Mirwais Written by Madonna, Stuart Price, Mirwais and Erik Satie Quote
stevo208 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I don't think I can rank this yet. 3rd listen and there isn't one skip song. I have to listen beginning to end which is how all perfect albums should be experienced. Its incredible. We are the luckiest fanbase. I never expected this at this stage. She continues to inspire and surprise. This album will end up in my top 2. I know that. Quote
FreeMySoul Posted July 3 Posted July 3 It’s soooo much to process i’m crying dancing all at the same time overwhelmed with every emotion and im not even through the album. Quote
Martin B. Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I never would have thought she would find such a creative space again. This album is extraordinary. The final part of the album, where the tempo slows down, offers the most intimate and fragile songs she has presented since ROL. Quote

Floored me??? She's like an origami person or artist who just keeps unolding into something new and different. i cannot discredit really special moments in her last several records, but this experience - it WAS an experience... was exceptional! rare, and honestly, kinda weird that i could be so surprised by her right now. I have no right to be surprised. shouldn't i know better by this point??? I FUCKIN LOVE MADONNA!!!!! This sums it all up perfectly!! L.E.S. Girl alone just elevates her entire discography, and there are 15 other amazing songs besides that! I really don't think there are any songs worth skipping in the entire tracklist. Bring Your Love might be the weakest song here, and it's a banger! Quote
Lolo Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I can’t stop listening!!! All the songs are perfect!?!?!?! How can this be? I only skip BYL because I heard it a hundred times already and it’s never been a fave for me, unlike IFSF, which I still love with passion. Quote

Musicinferno Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I‘m completely exhausted now it’s so rare that something lives up to the hype. 3 Favourites right now: Love Without Words Everything Good For The Soul Quote
Crux Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I've spent the last day playing this album to death, and I'm playing it right now and love it even more with each listen. It's not very often I click play immediately after an album is over. I never did that with Madame X, Rebel Heart, MDNA and HC, Which proves it's going to be one of my most played Madonna albums. Not sure what they did on streaming but IFSF, BYL and Love Sensation sound so much cleaner now than they did before the album came out. and they have more base now. What a stunning masterpiece. Quote
*mlvc* Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I pulled the album up on Apple Music this morning and the tracks absolutely do not blend - they are pretty distinct and have gaps. Anyone else? Quote
Fitho Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I must say that I am also positively surprised because I didn't expect the album to be so creative and innovative. As many on this forum wrote already, the second half is more similar to Erotica or Ray of Light than to Confessions 1. I love that she didn't just chase trends (which she is always accused of) but instead just did her thing, that is, being experimental, going deep and avoiding under 3 minutes long Tik Tok songs, which I find very important. The only thing I noticed is that the album is not really packed with single candidates. Good for the Soul and One Step Away are amazing album tracks but not really singles to me. That's why only Danceteria can be the next single for me. Of course this is not necessarily a bad thing, I just think it might have helped to have one or two more easily accessible songs on the album for the public. Quote
