That’s completely different to hiring a body double for a music video. Many artists, not just Madonna, will watch a rehearsal of a show with a dancer playing them to see how it looks, that industry standard but they are not body doubles they are already part of the show. I totally appreciate what you are saying it could absolutely be the carpet rolling and some bathroom shots, but in my personal opinion the only reason they hired in and paid for a body double was for the wire shots. I don’t see why they would go to the trouble and money of hiring a body double for anything else we have seen that could easily be Madonna herself. Maybe Madonna didn’t think she could do the wire stunt until filming day and then she could but they had the body double on stand by? Who knows? I don’t know for sure, none of us do but I stand by my opinion the body double was hired in for the wire shots. Without that scene, I don’t think a body double was required for hire for the shoot. I think The Sun was reporting a body double hired in for the wire shots I thought? Maybe I am wrong in my memory but I thought the article was indicating the body double was hired in due to the video having action sequences. It certainly wasn’t written that the body double was more a standard thing but more of a special hire. Plus, I don’t think in other Madonna music videos they do use doubles for Madonna as standard ? (or on special occasion, like the silhouettes of M and MJ on the tour) and yeah, maybe for certain risky shots they use one to do the real thing, but clearly not for action sequences in the sky. there was even one in the swept away movie where she was thrown off the boat. I appreciate what you are saying babe it’s me I got it wrong and assumed the body double mentioned was someone hired in specially for the wire scenes as they perhaps required it. I stand corrected as it appears the dancer/double appears in scenes in the video that I didn’t think warranted a double stand in for M. 1 minute ago, runa said: I also think they use a double for some shots with Sabrina Surprising? tasteinmen Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Do we think we'll get the video mix on streaming? Whatever they've done to it has elevated the song. Like the first "I know where the bodies of buried" is just so much punchier now. Quote

Yeh the BYL video version is superior to the released version, the same way the EY video version is to the single version, but of course that enjoyed a release! I hope we get the BYL video mix released officially to enjoy! Quote

metalissimo Posted June 17 Posted June 17 4 hours ago, Confessit II said: Yes I think someone got that from AI. At the end of the day MX got 95K in total units, and CII has a lot more appeal than that one had for casuals on streaming, plus there’s been more variants for the hardcore fanbase to buy up. So I completely agree with your prediction of 100K in America. But I think a more conservative figure of 80K is more realistic? MX got 95k because of the ticket bundles. Now, there's no ticket bundles. CII must get a lot of streamings to debut at no 1 on Billboard 200. Quote

(Yes, it “makes sense” that a fan would, but … it wasn’t always automatic, and not every ticket purchaser happened before the week of album release.) On top of that, if you were a fan who splashed out on the cost of attending MXT, it is unlikely you’d be satisfied receiving the basic/standard edition of the album — you’d likely want the deluxe version with the additional tracks, which is not what was included in ticket bundles. Just trying to provide a little context — the ticket bundle effect, which may have been very significant in the first week numbers for MDNA’s sales, may not have been as powerful for RH and MX because of different mechanisms (needing to take a second step to redeem a code) and timing of ticket sales (not all venues announced and on sale, some fans waiting until later to purchase tickets). The MDNA tour bundle deal was totally different and highly significant to MDNAs debut week in America over the MX redeem code, which as far less significant in it’s mechanics. What you are saying here is very true, and we will never ever know just how much of the 95K MX did on its debut week in America was through the MX tour bundle. What I would add to this are 2 things. Firstly, the cost of the MX album was already worked into the tour ticket price, you didn’t pay any extra for it, so in effect, it was a free copy of the album as an added extra with your ticket. You didn’t have a choice, everyone got the redeemable code in America for that time span as part of the bundle, so it wasn’t really too much effort to then go and redeem it. I hear what you are saying many hardcore fans who bought the tickets in America had already purchased MX elsewhere (particularly the deluxe edition) but wouldn’t hardcore fans redeem the code and get the album anyways because they knew it was going to help MX debut opening week in America? It sounds like something hardcore fans would absolutely do. Plus, it was already worked into the ticket price, I know I personally would get an additional copy even if I already had it if it helped Madonna on the charts. Even more so if I wasn’t having to pay for it again. Just a thought. Quote
