Yes it’s great she’s mixing things up and not doing the usual type of interview

Totally !

And another example of how she’s freshening up her approach in this era!

Looks like there is also going to be a 2-hour special on BBC Radio 2 Saturday 4th July 6-8 pm.

She is Madonna’s divine inspiration after all!

I mean there were rumours of them being together at Koko a few weeks back right?

I know that’s right but this special doesn’t need Miss Minogue God love her!

I mean she'll be there to gush over M and that's all. Plus the general British public like Kylie more so they're probably bringing her in to soften M's edges a bit 😄

True, maybe Madonna will rock up in her gold hot pants & Kylie wear the conical bra?

🤣🤣🤣

The special needs to be about Madonna and only Madonna! It’s been years since we have been treated to a full programme focusing  solely on her and her music.

If Kylie is there it'll be a segment on 'famous people who love Madonna and have been inspired by her' I imagine.

Someone from Reddit:

Graham did this just because he loves Madonna as he’s not currently recording his show, so they did not have an audience to keep things simple production wise. They also wanted to have them talking while walking around the studio and in the streets, but Madonna wouldn’t agree to any of that so they are on the couch all the time (except for a bit that may be recorded in her car, but can’t recall if that went ahead or not). Interview was about 2 hours, probably will be edited down to 1 though. Can’t wait to see it!

Madonna Joins Graham Norton for a World Exclusive BBC Special, Recorded at Koko in London

Madonna has sat down with Graham Norton for Madonna & Graham, a world exclusive special for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The programme has already been recorded at the legendary Koko in Camden, London — the very stage that hosted Madonna’s first-ever UK show in 1983, as well as the launch of her landmark 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

The special is an intimate, in-depth conversation about Madonna’s life and career. During the interview, she looks back on her early days in New York, reflects on her enduring relationship with the UK, discusses her most recent performance at Coachella, and much more — all ahead of the release of her much-anticipated new album Confessions II in July.

Madonna is not alone: the programme features special guests, including her long-time collaborator Stuart Price. Together, they take Graham inside the world of the new album, revealing the stories, inspirations, and creative process behind it.
Madonna & Graham will be broadcast on BBC One on Friday 26 June at 10.40pm, with a radio edition airing on BBC Radio 2 on Saturday 4 July, 6–8pm — the day after Confessions II arrives. Both programmes will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds for 30 days after transmission.

Graham Norton said: “As a lifelong fan it is always a thrill to interview Madonna, but to meet her on the dance floor where she first performed in London over thirty years ago felt incredibly special. She remains a legendary pop icon who is still doing what she does best — getting people up to dance!”

Jonathan Rothery, Head of BBC Popular Music TV, added: “Some commissioning decisions take a while to ponder, and some are a no-brainer. The opportunity for us to look in on an in-depth conversation between Madonna and Graham is definitely the latter. Madonna is such an inimitable artist and Graham a master of the art of chat.”

strange they are just speaking about making the show ... if its already been recorded, why not tease a few things from the show itself?

I hope MADONNA does more promo for EUROPE... It is her second best market after SOUTH AMERICA... CONFESSIONS II is perfect for the SA and EU market to promote... Even AMERICAN LIFE was a success when it was promoted in FRANCE...

SHE LOOKS SO GOOD!

and knowing M and stu will talk about the album together!!! but I need the full interview. you know they're gonna cut the most interesting parts

Something similar in the US would help to move albums! Madonna & Oprah in prime time would be ace.

I'm wondering if the two hour radio special will be the full interview or if they're going to pad it out with music. I hope we hear more of the interview.

Both Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi died in a car accident. Madonna later dedicated a digital release of Dress You Up to them.

💔 Thanks for remembering them! I did recall this, but didn’t have time yesterday to bring the details.

Love this dress on her! Have seen a couple different colors with similar styles so far (like at the after party for the Met Gala, it was maybe a white one). Just love how flowy it looks!

Fabulous.

An interview that spotlights the process with the producer !!!

I’m here for it!!!! And filmed in Koko club, love the connection back to Madonna’s iconic past.

I hope Graham shows a clip of Madonna performing there in 1983 😍

Yes I don’t  think we have had this sort of programme since the making of ROL on MTV.  This is what the fans really want!

Yes, yes, yes!!! This sounds so promising! (And, knowing Stuart is there should add to the “relaxed Madonna” vibe. She is very comfortable with Stuart.)

Yeah, I got concerned about this, too, given the things we have heard about Norton’s production team and their somewhat shady edits in the past. Maybe we’ll get an uncut online or something…

The radio 2 show is going to be the full 2 hour interview.

i think this could be it for UK promo unless she does a small gig as she still has to promote Europe & Asian markets, all before she zooms back to the US to start World Cup rehearsals.

after which she will announce a tour or set of club shows across the world.

I mean, that’s the hope, but I think, since the radio show is after the album release, it may just be the televised interview punctuated with songs from the album (as someone else suggested, to “pad out” the time). But I hope you’re correct!

I think there will definitely be promo appearances in the UK — whether like the Abbey (DJ set) or Times Square (pocket show), the UK will get something.

I hope she's going to be happy and smiley and not serious artist face which we keep seeing.

That depends on the grillz babe. If they are in she doesn’t smile, without them in she does.
