Candyperfumeboy Posted June 19 Posted June 19 So are we thinking it’s likely a next Friday release, or potentially sooner? Quote
Shut Your Mouth Posted June 19 Posted June 19 This song is hot and I can’t wait for the full release! Quote

promise to try Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Out of all the songs that we have heard so far, this is the worst.I hope it´s not a single, and it´s only a non-single song...but yes, I want her to release it soon! I need new songs! Quote
DreamTheater Posted June 19 Posted June 19 11 minutes ago, SOON said: This song is hot and I can’t wait for the full release! So true. It will be funny to watch all the backtracking when the song is released in full. Also, you put too much weight in the FIFA halftime show. It is after the release of the album and its promo impact is completely unproven. I'm sure that the next major promo push will come in the context of the album release, on July 3rd or a bit before. Fitho Posted June 19 Posted June 19 By the way, did we ever consider in this forum that this might be one of the song she will be performing for the FIFA halftime show? That was the first thought I had when I heart the song with its drums etc. Quote
promise to try Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I still believe she will change her mind and won´t performance in that shit that, let´s face it, most of the viewers will sy she is old, she didn´t sing la isla bonita...the classic shit Quote

Confessit II Posted June 19 Posted June 19 The song has literally split the forum in 2. People either love it or hate it. Quote

My thoughts……. 1, I think the song is the weakest on the film, but I admit, the genre is not to my personal taste, but I appreciate Madonna’s verse sounds infectious, the production is great but I think it still sounds very generic in its Latin form (no offence to Latin fans). 2, From a commercial point for view and an artistic one, I don’t think the song has any greater chance of impacting either the generals public as some of the others we have heard. It’s more MX just with a better beat, and I don’t think the public are hungry for more Latin Madonna. Artistically, the album is marketed as a hardcore dance album and RML is the odd one out, so therefore as a 2nd single to help promote the album it’s a bizarre choice. 3, If it ain’t Bad Bunny no rapper inclusion is going to do anything anywhere, it will be more of going nowhere fast like Maluma. 4, Just because RML is better than most of MX from the short clips we have from a mainstream perspective, doesn’t mean it is better than what we have heard. No way is it a stronger contender than Danceteria or OSA in terms of single value/FIFA performance & streaming value post-event. 5, I think the scene in the film for RML is the weakest and least interesting. I think if there is a full video of it that is potentially released it won’t be half as visually alluring as the others would for a full sequence. But some of that is driven by the fact I really don’t give a shit about the rapper in it (again, sorry if he has fans in the forum). All this. The only Warner decision so far (if it actually happens!) that's reminding me of the Interscope years. A bit baffling, if I'm being honest. Quote
Geiger83 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 The song per se (based on the snippet) isn't bad. It is just not good enough to be THE song preceding the album release. If it is for the World Cup it is too soon to release it anyway. If this come to be true it will be the oddliest decision in the album campaign so far. But I can really see Madonna pushing it somehow Quote

I think it's general concensus that it's the weakest snippet we heard, yet. Just look at the Rank thread. *Read My Lips is by far the least popular song: 12 of the 18 voters gave it the minimum score of 1 and it received no scores of 4, 5, 6, or 7, only 1s, 2s, and a single 3. svperstar Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I don't see the purpose of having an impression of a song based on a snippet. Hear the full thing before you write it off. Quote

There's no point releasing another song just for the gays, we are already buying the album. Quote
beautyiswhereIfoundit Posted June 19 Posted June 19 And if the entire song doesn't fully have that Latin style and it only changes during his feature, diring the rapper's intervention, when he comes in? in reality, it's an electronic and dance song like the others, like in Deeper and Deeper when the flamenco guitar appears... my best hopes Quote

Cyber-Raga Posted June 19 Posted June 19 If true then obviously GMAYL and The Super Bowl come to mind but also Future and ESC. She went for the dystopian performance at a show that screams camp. While I applaud that she had the ball to do the latter, it was a wasted opportunity as most people outside of our circle hated the performance and as a consequence did not purchase nor stream MX. We‘ll see. Read my Lips could be great. I personally like the Danceteria snippet but it didn’t really rock my world. Good for the Soul is more my jam. So taste always lies in the eye of the beholder. Milosc89 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I really like this song. And I really like the part of the movie when she kicks snd shatters the imaginary glass I watched it like a million times Quote

I think fans forget that in todays world just the streams numbers are important for charts...and this could be what Maluma did for MX...which was low still the biggest from that album...Sabrina has been very slow so she needs another hit to increase the streaming.. And I don't dislike what I heard from Read My Lips. In fact, I like all the snippets, to a different level. I don't think none of them is bad. Just that Read My Lips is less my cup of tea. Quote
runa Posted June 19 Posted June 19 And btw, I remember hearing a snippet of Extreme Occident, thinking that would be amazing. Turns out it's not the case. So we never know, on way or the other. Quote

Yeah, I've dumped out of singles early but this is M. and CII is already an immersive experience. I need it all before final judgement - but love it so far. Quote

I hope you're right, dollhouse, though I can't shake the feeling that Latinos don't necessarily like Latin Madonna (la isla bonita doesn't count). The Madonna we fell in love with gave us dance, infectious pop, rb, and some of the sweetest ballads ever written. I think that's what we're thirsty for. But I'd love to be proven wrong Quote
