She recorded the entire LAP album in a matter of weeks; she recorded Vogue in a basement, she recorded Confessions (I and II) in Stuart’s flat, many of her collaborators have noted that her vocals have often been the first-take or demo vocal. But I get what you’re saying - she isn’t slap dash as she can be ultra focused when it comes to production (I remember during Rebel Heart, Blood Diamond were shocked that she stayed with them in the studio to discuss every snare etc), but she has always done what felt right when recording and I think that applies to this album too.

Great point. It's hard to explain (and maybe I'm projecting) but the overall vibe with her seems to be much "softer" and I hear it in her vocals. I do think the mic and the mixing imperfections are intentional.

I think hiding her voice is intentional, which is a shame. They’re too buried for me. But using an older mic has nothing to do with how her voice sounds. I wonder how much the GP connects with her vocal effects? She’s probably one on of the only ones out of all the big females who uses it so heavily?

And honestly I doubt it, considering people are basic and like X Factor/The voice type of thing... However this also makes me think of other things maybe people just don't get. Like her homage to Leonora Carrington at The Met for example. As Mexican I'm a fan of hers as is probs half the country. But overall global audiences? Maybe not so... I think many things M does these days are hardly john/Jane doe relatable imho.

Madonna ran through hell so the younger generation could walk in the sunshine. I think the fact that M is still a star among stars says enough so I don’t worry about the charts so much because as I’ve said before, Madonna has no peers and certainly has nothing to prove.

Crystal Coffin Posted June 6 Posted June 6 "Love Sensation" is my favorite of the three. It's a very city-like song. Has that nice exuberant airy sound and feeling to it. Love the bridge, and the song ends with that brige singing part, it feels so complete.
