I get so sad when she gets hated on unfairly Girl, she is 67 and closer to 68 with a hip and knee surgery. get it into your system: YOU WILL NEVER SEE HER MOVING LIKE SHE DID IN THE MDNA TOUR. This was the last time. Yes, some of us don't wanna hear you guys complaining about it because we have accepted reality. It's time the rest of you do it too because at this point it is fucking annoying. Quote

(see the intro as I pointed out, respect for the community, or when she's very creative..) it often feels like self sabotage. (I mean.. aside from this fanbase, she is getting thousands of hate comments, saying she can't dance, lip synchs, mick jagger being more flexible and a better dancer.. )if it's foreshadowing they better fix this. Shes slowed down and isn’t as amazingly fluid but that’s due to being nearly 70. I absolutely hear what you are saying, you are expressing what you saw but in my opinion she did showcase her best. It was a mini stage and she worked & commanded it wonderfully, it’s her first big full on gig for the album she must have been nervous but her confidence was out on show. All the talk of being stiff and stuff is just her age, she managed it really impressively and the entire performance was choreographed to allow her to do what she can. Just because it’s FIFA World Cup and she will have a bigger stage doesn’t mean she will be able to launch into the original Hung Uo routine. It will be the same level of routine she can do at this time of her life. Quote

Watch, judge for yourself and maybe steer clear of comment sections. We shouldn't put to much weight on misogynistic opinions of people who barely grasp the concept of a pop artist Quote

I get so sad when she gets hated on unfairly I didn't want to yuck peoples yum after the performance so I didn't say a thing, but since you opened the door.... I think by and large what we are seeing is simply age at this point. Would I love to see her bust out choreography effortlessly like she seemed capable of doing up to the Madame X era? Of course! But the woman is going to be 68! And the toll of performing and training like an Olympic athlete for 4 decades no doubt is going to hit her body hard. We know the excruciating pain she was going through during the Madame X Tour. It sucks. Its depressing as hell, but I believe she'll find a way through it. I have no doubt she'll always perform, but I think after this era it will evolve into something different. I'd be ecstatic as hell just seeing her performing with her guitar. I mean take a performance like Miles Away during Sticky and Sweet. She is fully capable of commanding a stadium simply doing that. In some ways I feel like this era could be her last send off in terms of making a full on dance record and giving it everything she has in that area. I also think that's why she visibly teared up looking over Times Square and taking it all in. Time marches on and here she is in a full circle moment performing at the place where in many ways it all began for her when she first came to NYC. No I am NOT one of those that believes for a second she will ever retire. She will always be creating and giving us something, but it's also why I am taking in and fully appreciating what we are getting now, because it could be one of the last times we get it in the form we have become accustomed to for close to 45 years! You never said that babe that was me I was saying in general I think some people have an assumption that because FIFA will be a massive stage and Times Square wasn’t, that means she should/will be better in her movements. But I don’t think that’s true. I think Madonna’s movements in NYC are the best she can do and the fact she was performing in a small stage setting doesn’t actually mean she was performing herself down, it was the best of her abilities on show. I am just saying it’s her age in my humble opinion and nothing to do with her team lying to her or Madonna not working with the best dance teacher, it’s simply a sign of the times as she is approaching 70. luizotaviobarros Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Nikki, I think if she can pull off a Celebration Tour-level choreography, she'll be fine! And here's the good news: she's much fitter and seems healthier than in 2023, so if she rehearses (which she will do, frantically) and plays to her strengths, I think we're gonna get Coachella x 100, not Eurovision, which didn't have a single redeeming feature: the dark atmosphere, Future with Quavo (really?), the freaking eye patch, the kareoke arrangement, the sound malfunction. Those days are gone. Quote

Confessit II Posted June 6 Posted June 6 3 minutes ago, Nikki said: i just dont want her to be a laughing stock and get even more insecure about her performance abilities. I totally hear and understand you babe, you make great points and look at the bigger picture. The World Cup is a scary prospect, it is the biggest audience of her career and the most recent comparison to it is indeed Eurovision, which didn’t work at all and was actually detrimental to her as there were more people who didn’t like it than did. Madonna taking CONFESSIONS II to the World Cup for starters is a bit left field, a very masculine sport and she will probably rock up in a leotard and a glitter ball. But The party theme of the era I think will be perfect and really get the crowd going and she has so many classics to choose from to also get the crowd going (and the audience at home). I’m sure Madonna will treat the World Cup as she did the SB; because it seriously is that significant and particularly to the album campaign as much as her legacy. I have high hopes for it but I do understand what are saying, I think now there is a fine line between performance gold & ridicule. Quote
Skin Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Honestly though at the end of the day actually LOOK at the people making negative hateful comments about Madonna. Hate that she's received since day one mind you! Almost by default the seriosly hateful, spiteful comments come from some miserable looking older gay or woman. It's as if they need to project their own misery on Madonna. Quote

Yes, I totally hear you. 2015 - 2021 was a very tough time for Madonna and for those who worship her like us, and when she's performing live, I still have my stomach in knots. But there's been a palpable shift in energy since Popular + CT, and the stars are finally aligned. Our worst fears will not materialize. I just feel it. Quote
RoyalMadonna Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I personally think Madonna can still move fluidly enough, but the heels make her hold back because I think she has less balance than before. I truly wish she would go back to dancing in flat shoes like 1984-1990. Quote

The performance even left the audience in the arena puzzled they didn’t know whether to clap or not. The entertainment level was so low, people were just not used to Madonna not bringing it to the stage like that. But it was a total one off in my opinion and there’s no way she’s going to take something as dark and bizarre as that to FIFA World Cup. We are in the 2nd confessions era for starters, this isn’t MX.
