But I’m guessing this could be the song all the insiders gushed at!?!? The big solo single that will never be?

The Sun has been sharing everything as secret (like grainy clandestine photos from the video set). I guess I’d be surprised if one journalist got a private one-on-one listening session with Stuart. I’d love for him to give interviews, for sure! Just, with the cluster of others saying they attended listening parties in the past day, it seems like it is more of a group thing than a one-on-one.

I don’t think so … I think we heard part of One Step Away at the Abbey event (which people were guessing at as “Freedom,” because she sings that word so prominently). I also don’t think One Step Away is that (mythical) solo single … because the one who told us about it (DazedMadonna) said the title of it hadn’t been shared anywhere yet (after we knew a handful of titles). It will be interesting to hear if he shares any reaction to Lucy’s new titles added into the mix.

Ellie also provides additional details about the recording sessions from Stuart that we haven't heard from the others, as far as I am aware? Possibly ! I would be very surprised though if Warners granted just one journalist from one publication the full album at this stage, I don’t see the benefit of that. Although The Sun got the exclusive to the video, I think they would have said yes to that anyways without a demand of hearing the full album. I personally think The Sun have heard half the album like everyone else at this stage.

So, perhaps this great track is on the 2nd half of the album nobody is yet to hear then! I do wonder IF we will get another song released the week before the album? Even if it’s just released as a promo track if she really has ditched the traditional single route it would be great to launch the album with another amazing full song!

To be fair, I doubt she knew about the 10 minute film when she reported on the shoot in March, Warners wouldn’t have told her that so she reported it as a music video in good faith.

That's not the point. She talked about what they told her; she couldn't have reported things she didn't know. I was struck by her way of presenting things. I don't know the journalist; I've only seen the two videos for M's new album, so I don't know if she always has this very, very "warm" way of explaining things. Personally, I find it very exaggerated. But if there are bangers that follow one another, it's better that way, but I'm waiting to hear them with my own ears.

But its The Sun which mayse well be written by monkeys, it’s a tabloid trashy newspaper and not exactly hard hitting journalism I mean, with a newspaper like that it’s bad enough having to read the contents without having to look at the bastard that wrote it as well

Yes, if you look at the video, she's in an industrial part of town. That is definitely not the area around Shaftesbury Avenue in central London. I assume she'd just come out of a private listening event. I can't imagine her recording in an area like that (with builders around!) unless it's just where she has done the listening.

Maybe they just haven’t posted about it. (Which seems “ironic” but … several people have said these were “no phone” events, so … I’m sure the social media influencers could be put off by that alone.) And anyway … TikTokers are only going to use brief snippets anyway. Are they even going to listen to half the album? I would imagine Warner would serve some content to them differently.

With different songs being played, someone in Popjustice who attended a session mentions a track called “School(or School’s In Session)”, which apparently has Up Down Suite vibes and asks the question who is the teacher and who is the student. Danceteria name checks Basquiat, Haring and Debi Mazar among others! And apparently that track will “result in a wig shortage worldwide”, apparently it is THE track!

Stuart said Celebration was the start of CII and they went to the studio after the tour. Madonna enjoyed doing the Celebration tour. They didn't go in the studio thinking they were going to do Confessions II, the project evolved into it. It's documenting where she is at in life and who she is. Moodboard was revisiting clubs like Twilight, Limelight, Danceteria etc. that Madonna frequented Recording of the album was very structured. M would come with an A4 notepad with lyrics. Sometimes she would bring the lyrics and Stuart would have some music and they would connect the lyrics with the music. It was mostly recorded in one location with the same microphone she used for confession 1 Stuart had bought with all of his money28 years ago. As mentioned elsewhere nothing was recorded remotely. BYL was recorded in NY with Sabrina. There was an immediate physical chemistry between them as they had similar experiences at different times of their lives. He said the idea of recording BYL came up naturally and they just went "let's get in the room and see what happens."He also said BYL was F U record and was about having control over your own career. And it was like "you don't think I am in control of my career? F U! bring your love!" The album took over a year to complete. Madonna would listen to each song they recorded, start to finish everyday when she was at the gym. He said it took a while to hear back from Lil Louis to get the sample cleared for IFSF. There is a lot of spoken word on the album about what the dancefloor means. It's confessional but also includes songs around loss and related to world events. He talked about bit about the Abbey show. He said M's vocals was the best he heard. I also made a note about the record was Madonna being at the height of her expression and also showing vulnerability. He referred to the album as a 16 track record and did not mention the 12 track version. He also said is it 16 tracks or is it one long track? He also mentioned no collaborator was ever the same after working with Madonna (in a positive way)
