Better to premier a newer song from the album if Sabrina isn’t available to join her on stage, plus, by the time we get to July 19th I would assume we will be on to the 2nd single. So it makes sense to perform that one?

Why do people think it’s going to be a constant stream of new things from the time of the album announcement to the actual album release months later?! These are totally unrealistic expectations that lead to nothing but self-inflicted disappointment and catastrophic meltdowns. While I agree there have been some head scratchers when it comes to easy misses, people are also expecting WAY too much….

The first half of the campaign was always going to be for hardcore fans and the multiple variants + the playlisting of BYL & now remixes of IFSF. I suspect the 2nd half of the campaign (post the long form video) will be of what I think everyone is expecting, appearances from Madonna, interviews, magazines ect. There are 11 weeks of preorders, that’s a very long time and whilst I also scratch my head at zero remixes for BYL, what I would say is the drip feed effect has absolutely raised Madonna’s profile, firstly on streaming with the Sabrina effect (BYL has already out streamed the entire MX album) & the radio support (particularly here in the UK) but this is the first wave i anticipate further support in promotion in the second wave which I see as more for the casuals & general public to buy into CONFESSIONS II. Hence the World Cup final and I’d imagine in July on album release week (or week before) Madonna will make some high profile interview appearances and/or podcast dates to discuss the album. WB have already showcased a generous handful of listening parties to get the appetite well and truly wet for it! Plus Madonna has stepped out as well in clubs to wet the appetite for it, again, this is for hardcore fans which is fabulous. It’s a steady but dynamic campaign with more to come. But I think what is left to come will be few & far between but that’s fine, it will be all well orchestrated to penetrate the market as much as they can with the album. I think a lot of this feeling is driven from the fact we haven’t really seen Madonna out in action in a traditional sense, usually from the very time a lead single is dropped, Madonna is out promoting it, this time it’s different, I think that’s where people are expecting and not getting.

The full tracks will be heard by July 19th. BYL for me will be old news by the time the World Cup final arrives, I say take a different confession from the album to the event.

But IF there’s a 2nd single then isn’t it more likely she will perform that one? And is Sabrina going with her to the World Cup? If she isn’t I don’t think it’s appropriate to perform it without her, she might as well sing another new track

It could be they didn’t want to spoil the broader film by releasing a video revealing parts of it first but we’ll find out very soon enough hopefully

Collabs could be added after the tracklist is out. Even on release day Spotify could show the tracks with no feats and then you hear the guest artist on the track without credits…
