Would absolutely love to have a longer version, though, and maybe Stuart will be able to extend it a bit for a DJ set or something (if not for remixes or a remix album project down the road).

Confessit II Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Personally, I love Madonna’s vocals. Yes there might be some grillz in (which I hate like everyone else) BUT it sounds cool and suits the track. On MX the grillz destroyed some tracks and absolutely didn’t warrant that kind of vocal alteration. But for BYL I think it works, she sounds fabulous and it isn’t over kill saturated vocals but more funked up vocals to bring a dynamic sound to her voice in the song. The 2.35 mark I actually like as it sounds more stylistic than the rest of the vocal trickery. It's definitely hampered my excitement sadly but I do still think it's a banger of a song! The spoken word bits are my fave.

Mikey Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Really great song. And I agree it's a MADONNA song, not her fitting into someone else's world. Also don't love the vocals. They sound muffled on the sung parts, like she had the grills in + they got mixed down and flattened. Weird choice. I wish they were as clear as the spoken parts!

I was trying to clarify about the writing credits — which of the rumors was true, because there were two. That Mr S indicated it was M, Stuart, and the Inner City writers.
