Plus I remember reports Madonnas team was split between BYL and One Step Away as a lead. I think BYL is a smart choice, it could smash and then they can release One Step Away.

But they reported 6 days of filming in total... 2 in Los Angeles and 4 in London, I think that's too much for just one video.

Dont get me wrong the song they have ended up making together sounds a real catch and a strong choice for lead single. But even if there are far superior songs on CONFESSIONS II that are totally solo, it would still be the lead single because of Sabrina and the profile she brings to it. I think in the end it was just wishful thinking amongst fans that Warners were debating to do a Madonna solo first as the lead, the reality is far more likely to be they knew from the moment Sabrina signed on to do it, the collaboration would be out first.

She has not charted with a NEW solo song in the USA in 17 years and in the UK in 10 years.

But I’ve been wrong before

Come on now… That “Hung Up heir” is starting to sound like a bunch of BS unless it is the strong M solo song that’s also been rumored. BYL is a cute song and sounds commercial, but if I had one concern about it… it’s a little on the Preachdonna spectrum with the “I know where the bodies are buried, don’t try to shut me up” type lyrics. I rarely criticize a singer’s art but sometimes Madonna can take herself too seriously.
