As anticipated, this is the track that will be added to the pop playlists we were seeing last week!

It’s track 4 on Spotify as well ☺️

Why can’t I find the clip of all snippets mashed up together?

Try to just WAIT now. Lol. I hear/feel you but thisclose. The ~3-days I'm actually praying hard NO more clips, bit & pieces & god forbid leaks. I want it to land/HIT like HU did (100% smoothly) in late 2005. Only way to experience that sustained organic euphoria for weeks.

Doesn't it seem that in the RH era the stars were just not aligned? No matter what she did it just kept flopping or backfiring.

The fall, the leaks, Drakesgate, the stringed faces backlash, promo that just wouldn't get anywhere...

2026 is whole different beast, thank goodness.

Yes. It was a mess and Interscope didn’t help, they just left Madonna hanging out to dry.

Madonna wanted a double album REBEL/HEART - most likely to finish out her contractual obligation and they refused to release it like that, hence the bloated track list of the super deluxe.

It’s a shame really because there are some amazing songs from that era. It’s my favorite album behind COADF and ROL.

what about people in Australia and the rest of the Southern Hemisphere lol

Way more consistently supportive & stuck by M over the decades! Ya, US 'biggest market' blah blah.

Okay whatevas. Whether it's 1992, 2005, 2026 US & radio will never not sweat M or hesitate/never fully embrace or reward even if it's another Vogue or LAP.

You had that with HU (flawless, masterpiece pop song for *any singer). That should of been the ONE even there. Massive literally everywhere. Only the US it did 'okay'.

We'll see what happens now. As usual, most of my energy is zoned in on Europe, Canada & Australia, etc...

Maybe the US will end up a very  unexpected pleasant surprise w/ her at 67 yold lol. But after 3+ decades of bullshit (when she was still young-pretty young) how could one expect much more atp.

I'm loving the snippet and all the promo!❤️❤️

I will say I’m definitely enjoying IFSF more and feel like the chorus on this doesn’t really go anywhere but it’s sounds wonderfully produced and will withhold judgment until the whole song is available.

Just had the email from Madonna which clearly states this is 'the first official single from Confessions II'

I’m enjoying IFSF more as well, but this song is so damn catchy and gets stuck in my head.  I can’t wait to hear the full studio version.

Finally that clears up any confusion.

It is the lead single.

So what was "one step away "?

Maybe the much talked about solo lead that will serve as the 2nd single is my guess?

Just another song, it seems.

The Warner press release just mentioned the song, but never said that it was the lead single. However, Rolling Stone called it like that, which kinda confused people (hence the reason why they edited it).

What? IFSF is a great club song, but if IFSF or BYL are in the running, BYL deffinately has the stronger chorus which is very addictive and sticks in your head. Out of the two, BYL is clearly the more pop, more accessible, more in your face song. IFSF is a huge grower, it's a really great deep house cut, but it's deffinately not an instant hit. BYL is.

BTW the single cover is sublime. Both Madonna and Sabrina look gorgeous on it. Madonna hasn't looked this classically beautiful on a cover in eons. Absolutely STUNNING.

Wisest choice in the end, really. But why Thursday instead of Friday? Not that six hours (for the U.S.) will make too much difference. And it's midnight in Europe, as noted.

So the video shot in London was for BYL?

Do they do that normally with some big releases though? I think I have read they do so it’s not totally unusual to drop it ahead of Friday.

Maybe to drum up a bit of us ahead of starting the full tracking week for streams and stuff?

I can't wait to hear the full song, but this will be her highest charting single since 4 Minutes, no matter what. It's incredible how much everything works in her favour this time, such a big difference from the Interscope years.

Yes, I think it’s pretty common

Good question. Does anyone know?

While this single may not do as well as "4 Minutes" did (18 years ago), recall how Timberlake's involvement helped Madonna score impressive airplay after the COADF singles did not ("Hung Up" did the best, of course, peaking at 42 on Radio Songs, top 20 at pop radio ands Hot AC). So, Carpenter's involvement will only help.

Not sure how the Thursday premiere will affect any kind of radio promo (hourly play on some stations, for instance))- maybe that will come on Friday.

Now we know BYL is being released officially as the lead, we can expect a video.

It sounds like Warners have pushed the boat out on the budget with stunts, soundstages & celebrity cameos so at a guess, I would imagine they would only do that for the lead music video, as the lead is the most important single of the album.

So I think the video shot in London that The Sun reported on was for BYL

Fucking amazing!!!

Just heard it. It fucking rocks. Cannot wait until Friday or whenever it will drop in Europe. The bass line hits a lot harder than what we heard in the Coachella performance.

Meaning higher than GMAYL? I don't see that happening UNLESS there's radio payola first week, and all the playlist additions on streaming platforms are all scheduled and set...

I d guess so that it drops simultaneously throughout the world. In this way they won't loose streams in Europe since ppl wouldn't stream it illegally but on the streaming platforms - would be my guess. She has better chance in Europe anyways. I feel like that's a smart choice!

Not really feeling this song ... glad I love IFSF.

The announcement shows on Sabrina C.'s Instagram, as well, though when you go to click it, it's not showing up (at least on my device lol)

EDIT: The post now shows when you click on it, on SC's page.

it's pretty common these days, probably (as others pointed out) so that it's a worldwide release. it's probably better to have extra hours in the US ahead of the first full week than to cut the week short in the earlier markets, where it will probably do better anyway? i mentioned earlier that i think it also shows warner's confidence in the song's first-week performance in the US (or at least that they're planning to pull out all the stops and don't think a few hours on thursday will affect things much).

We'll see what happens in the US, but globally it will comfortably outperform every Interscope release.
