The initial track Madonna and Stuart worked on while on the Celebration Tour, inspiring the album, possibly called "One Step Away." Rumors that videos have been shot for both, so both songs are (nearly) prepped. Again, as has happened so often in her career, a situation where Madonna may be pushing for one and the label for the other. Here are two ways I envision this playing out, each representing a bit of the extreme case scenarios. "One Step Away" is released first. Big push this week. Large budget video with many celebrity cameos soon-ish (likely still in post production). May break a million streams on its first day but with only fan interest will fall off rather quickly without steady promo. Very little chance of radio airplay. Would not sustain general interest through the album release date, and a second single would be needed in 3-4 weeks. Hopefully Sabrina hype is still strong enough to reignite the era's spark, could peak around the album release. "Bring Your Love" is released first (hearing Sabrina fans are excited and pushing for it). First day streams 2-3 million, with sustained interest. Significant radio airplay. Lower budget video may be fully ready to go. Potential top ten on the Hot 100, with staying power for multiple weeks. Interest maintained through the album release date, with the ability to launch the second single a week before or day of. Second single piggy-backs off the success and also charts in the lower Hot 100. Radio more likely to give it a shot." I don't necessarily agree with Top 10 on the Hot 100 for the Sabrina collab. Thanks hun. This is basically a detailed analysis of what we have all been discussing the last few days in here. Both are happening Solo & collaboration. Its just which way round we are getting them. TL;DR: nobody really knows anything. Quote
Lolasmommy Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I've heard IFSF on radio - this era she seems to have radio support so I think she wants to do the solo as the lead single to prove it. Quote

It's on bloody radio 2 right now!!! If this is what a buzz single is doing god knows what Warner is planning for the lead - is gonna smash for sure! Quote

If this is true, just imagine the face of executives seeing Madonna pushing for a controverse (?) and less commercial single, while having another one with a possible guaranteed return into the charts, after having spent over a decade absent from the main charts (Joke alarm!!!) Qbanito Posted April 21 Posted April 21 When would we get the full track listing for CII? Would it be right before the album release or is it possible that we get it sooner? Quote

Surely they would know what the title of the song is if the album is already in production. I can’t take anything serious past that point. Quote

Icykiller Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I hope they give IFSF at least a week more. It's a great track, ot deseves the spotlight moment and it is doing its work. Also, I feel people are being waaaay optimistic of the posible effects of her SC duet Quote

It sounds like a pop song BY MADONNA for a change and not Madonna being on someone else's song so I think that's the difference. It all comes down to the music. I love I Feel So Free, its clubby and sublime, but I can not see it setting the chart or even the interest of her casual fans on fire. Unfortunately. Its sleek and classy, but I don't know how far it can get. Quote

That's when they dropped IFSF last week. Catches America waking up and still half a day for UK/Europe. If anything does happen tomorrow, I'm thinking either then or the radio 2 breakfast show. Quote

If a single drops from the charts in a week or two, it wasn't a good choice for a single to begin with. And that won't happen with the Sabrina featuring. That song has at least 2-3 months of life in the charts. I still believe not releasing anything this Friday is a mistake. Quote

So basically you are saying nothing from the album is going to work as a single. I don't agreed with that. She needs the best songs out, mainly for streaming reasons and keep people talking. At least 2 before the album is out. Quote
