I mean considering it's not matrketed as a single, it was dropped with little to no promotion, no video, and one day less of streaming... that's honestly an achievement for now! and to put in a context, it's already higher than Medellin, Crave, Ghosttown and Bitch I'm Madonna  - songs that were actual singles and were actually promoted (and had features attached)

It just dawned on me - so that last "Freee" in the song is sang in the exact same melody as "(i love new) yoooork".

 

I feel so free seems intentionally reminiscent of future lovers - song that segues into ILNY on confessions. Is this an intentional easter egg then?

if the first album is any indication it will probably just continue for a couple more seconds and bleed into the next song.

How many streams would it have to take in a week for it to crack it even at number 99 or something? Sorry I don't know anything about the way charts are with stream counts etc etc. Just curious if you'd have an estimate ??

With minimal airplay and sales, a track probably needs around 4 million streams in a week to chart at the bottom of the Hot 100. It also depends on the week, as there are higher or lower thresholds at times. So, yeah, probably not happening here.

At No. 3 U.S. iTunes (that Rodrigo track is Nos. 4 and 5); again, I don't think instant grats (getting a track when you pre-order an album) count toward the Hot 100 any more? Billboard did some rule change with the Complete My Album process last decade.

Still U.K. No. 1.

Me neither. I mean, when you look at the songs higher than 87, so many are songs I’ve never heard of by artists I’ve never heard of, which all have zero presence outside streaming, and yet somehow someone is streaming those songs more? I think the whole streaming thing is fishy.

mariah must have had significant airplay to crack the chart then, no? because there's no way she had anywhere near 4M streams in her first week.

Anyway, the song really deserves it, and I'm doing it because I like to support it. It's a 5-minute song, but it never gets boring. It's very dynamic, and the minutes fly by like an incredible 3-minute song! Should we organize a mass action? Who's capable of organizing it? I'm in.

Yes, it really does feel like a 3 minute song! I'm excited for the remixes though (and I haven't been able to say that in quite some time!)
