Not really but it’s not a fair comparison because it was the 3rd single from COADF and actually commercially released in September, 3 months after DWP2 premiered.

There was no streaming back then for the sales to start from the moment people who went to see the film to come home and start streaming it.

If true, this time it’s very different. It will be the lead single and benefit from instant streams after people hear it in the film.

in America Jump was released in Mid-November so it didn't help the single much (the film got released in late June) , it did manage to go to #1 on hot100 single sales the week after its debut in late Nov and on Hot contemporary tracks it debuted in the top 30 in late Oct but then fell like a rock come Xmas

yeah there was hardly any impact from the film. if streaming had been around it might have gotten a small boost for a few weeks but hard to know.

not sure she's the "best" choice in terms of reaching a wider audience (that would be taylor), but i suppose in terms of popularity and fitting with the sound of the album and not alienating madonna's core fanbase, sabrina is a decent choice. but the weeknd would be even better.

Taylor's music is not a good fit for Madonna and now she has her own album to push. And from all the top streamers today, Sabrina's core fans are more likely to respond to Madonna and stick to the song for long. I believe that was the issue with many of her past collaborations. Just look at videos from her recent tour, Madonna's influence is showing. Especially the playful sexuality element that I'm sure Taylor fans would find off-putting.

i think you and some others might be overestimating the impact having a song in the film will do. it's good exposure but i don't think it's a game changer or is going to result is huge streaming numbers. going viral would.

That's right. A hit is made by the young and DWP2 will appeal mainly to an older audience. I don't get why people are so invested in this possibility.

^i think it will alert her older casual fans that she has new music coming out (she should release physical for them)

and Thats good even if streaming wont get much impact

Weren't there reports somewhere that the album will feature lyrics that will dive into body image and age discrimination etc? What if Sabrina's involvement will be a mere music video cameo with indeed a "The Substance" like plot... Could be a fun tongue in cheek sort of commentary against the patriarchy, something M and Sabrina have both railed against...

The M/Sabrina collab is being reported on Good Morning Britain like it's a fact not a rumour!

Latest meltdown on Infinity:

Looks like Arca (who leans urban) might be on the album too, so in the end, Confessions 2 is looking more and more like RH rather than a cohesive 90s-inspired House album.

We all suspected some of this months ago though didn’t we, with Tainy being followed last year and that picture of her in NY with him in a studio.

But if the Sabrina collab is true, then I’d imagine that will be a song for the dance floor 🪩

2 months?

I’d say less than that now.

If she is filming a music video I would be surprised if the lead single doesn’t premier next month!

Love Arca. She makes (great) remixes for pop tracks, so not necessarily on the main album corpus

There was this Demi Moore pic W magazine used recently on Instagram, about getting ready for Confessions 2. Anyway, fun idea

I wouldn't necessarily group Arca as an urban artist. She's very experimental and could be a great addition to the record if true.

Love her work with Bjork and Shygirl.

PS = I remember a few years ago Sabrina posting Love Tried To Welcome Me on her IG stories so shes clearly a fan.

Agreed, I’d describe Arca as experimental club music. She’s very diverse and works with a range of styles but I wouldn’t say it’s urban specifically.

Really pleased about this rumour.

Arca makes sense because she was in M's circle during the Celebration tour. I could also foresee a production credit for Honey Dijon..

Oh I would LOVE this. I always wanted her to collaborate with more female producers since I think M's production skills are often overlooked to what her male companions did

Maybe because they like DWP1.

Yeah, when you listen to Arca's work with Bjork, it has nothing to do with "urban". I agree that it makes sense.

If Arca is on the album, I wonder if it could be from the sessions M did before the Celebration Tour, like with Sickick, Honey Dijon and Max Martin, and she could be adding the tracks reworked by Stuart.

I think so. Even though the songs, as almost always happens, will have gone through several stages of production before reaching the final product we'll hear on the album.

Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna follow each other on Instagram.

I'm really hoping they're collaborating.

It could hit top 10 on Hot 100.😀

the collab rumors are true. SC is involved and 95% arca is one of the others. there's also a third (not sure if it's david or an actual artist though).

Things seem to be moving fast now.

I expect an announcement soon otherwise everything’s going to leak.
