She's filming, not recording. There was no rumours about her actually being on the album so maybe it's a cameo if it's true

For various reasons, Rhythm is A Dancer appears to be a tad too prominent in itself on popular culture right now (Instagram,Tik Tok, Fashion shows, even radio) so I'm not sure it'd work atm, if it's too obvious. To be honest, I'd rather it's not used on the lead single

Maybe Sabrina's playing the role of a young Madonna. I mean, she does look a bit like her, tbh.

Yeah unfortunately I agree. The original seems to have had a bit of its own resurgence so much so that it kind of ruins it being used as a sample. Which is incredibly unfortunate. My second favorite song from this era was Runaway from Real McCoy, I think that could’ve made a great option for a sample too.

+1

It would give the album longevity, and it would be a cooler idea to bring on board some major players for remixed versions of the album tracks.

This is much better than a feature in a lead single which she has done to death by this point.

Yeah and she’s Madonna. She could easily get an entire albums worth of current A-listers willing to collab that could make the remix album massive in its own rite. If her goal is to reassert herself creatively and critically as a musical force as has been mentioned in the rumours, then I think she needs to do this as a solo album. Just like the original confessions album.

Totally agree.

Plus, if she wants to be on trend with her new batch of dance music then that’s exactly the way to do it.

As you say, Madonna can command the absolute best for an incredible remix project with Stuart at the helm to help organise.

It’s a much better idea than hired in help to try and sell a lead single. Especially if it’s Sabrina fucking carpenter being roped in to help. (Sorry not sorry).

Very true.

If Sabrina has recorded with Madonna and it’s all been kept total secret until the video shoot, I believe this will be the very first time a lead single collaboration has ever been kept under wraps until music video….??

Not able to comeback solo?

Sabrina has notjing to do with madonna

Stuart was taking about a harsh new sound d'entraînement hubg up and she comes up with bubble gummish sabrina ?

How desperate.

It's a bad sign for the album

Sabrina is a good fit for Madonna. There is no guarantee for a hit but I feel she is one of the top choices for a collaboration. And as much as I would like a solo single, a featured artist is practically a necessity to jumpstart the era.

i don't think a female collab is a good idea. the two somewhat successful collabs she's done have been with men and there's probably a reason for that.

There were rumors only… And then Vogue was used for the teaser trailer in November (six months from release date). Then Vogue was used again, further remixed (thus requiring special approval, no doubt) for the trailer in February (three months from release).

That could be it, sure. But last time Madonna allowed them to use Vogue, she negotiated for the use of a new song, as well (Jump). It’s this history with the first film that leads fans to wonder if she put a similar stipulation on the permission to use Vogue again. Which, to be fair, is not entirely outlandish.

Could we be disappointed that neither Vogue nor any Madonna song is featured in the film itself? Absolutely. We know nothing right now. But it is based in reality of what factually occurred last time, so the conjecture isn’t wild.

Furthermore, there have been rumors from reliable sources that what is likely to be on the next album is a song that shares sonic similarities to Vogue, uses Italian language in a limited way (Milan is a plot point in DWP2), and namedrops fashion houses (at least Dolce for sure, if not Gabbana)…. All of that seems to make a film connection more likely than less. But time will tell.

there was also an insider who hinted at it. picture of a red heel or something?

Or, as we just discussed regarding mx, it doesn’t mean the video shoot happening right now potentially with Sabrina is for the first single. Could be for the second single…personally, I like the idea of solo lead featured in the movie to reestablish Madonna and COADF nostalgia using a huge sample like RIAD to get extra attention and traction, followed by a collab with someone like a Sabrina for the second single to give the album legs throughout the entire summer.

i think she's got one shot. the days of second or third singles becoming hits, even with a big feature, are long gone.

Sabrina seems to me the most interesting and intelligent popstar of her generation because she really likes to push buttons on people and is actually funny.

There's a level of irony in her work that reminds me of some of my favorite artists, making fun of people by making them think that she's too soft and bland, and then exposing them. Idk but even tho I'm not the biggest fan, I can't help but like her.

Yes … There definitely was one person using the red heel. Lindebergboy or whatever his name is — and he’s been a little spotty in his accuracy. (Doesn’t mean he is not legit, but there’s been a lot of “possibly this; if not, that” — and then “that” ended up being the Valentine’s Day text/WhatsApp thing … so … I don’t know. Jury’s still out.) I think he used the red heel emoji when saying something about the wait being worth it or something like that, so it was definitely insinuated by him that it was connected to the movie. But … like I said, his record isn’t exactly proven yet.

The rumors I mentioned were more from the reliable sources, because they were correct about the D&G campaign. (And one of those sources kind of validates Ragazzo, in my mind. Dazedmadonna revealed that there were other edits of the D&G ad with a different song. This was not the rumor about Pensiero Stupendo coming in early Feb — it was right after the ad was released around Jan 9. Dazed provided some additional detail about the Oct date on the original approval of the mostly final ad etc.)

So, anyway … you’re correct. The red shoe has been used. Dazed, who has been more accurate lately, used the golden heart emoji. (He also used the three emoji — snowflake, Italian flag, male couple  — which was later revealed to be the early winter release of the D&G campaign.) I don’t recall if he used the red heel emoji, though.

You raise some good points.

From my memory, putting to one side shades of grey, the only black and white straight to the point source/insider that has proven to be absolutely true is Dazed regarding D&G.

All the new music insiders are yet to actually be proven. It’s all still hot air regarding any new music rumours

Yes, correct.

There were two others who were correct about D&G, as well, but Dazed is the primary one. (The other two didn’t seem to have the same connections, if that make sense. Like, for example, the one knew based on fashion industry contacts. So … unlikely that they will know more about the album and what we’d want to know next… Dazed is the only one, in my opinion, that has been accurate lately.)

Dazed is also the one who said “keep streaming La Bambola” when asked a couple weeks ago about stuff. (Particularly around whether Pensiero Stupendo was coming, or the first single… and … that seems to have shown to be accurate in my opinion.)

I have a friend of a friend who helped Madonna design her outfit she wears for the album artwork.

But they won’t give any details. 😜

BUT … I will say … if there is a connection with DWP2, someone at the studio will know by now if there’s rumbling of an opportunity. In addition to the director, music coordinator, editor… like, there’s a handful of people more that would be in the know.

Possibly, if it’s well along and definitely happening, some marketing people for the film might know.

Oh, and remember, too, that W magazine IG post …? I think it was Demi Moore lifting weights, but the caption mentioned COADF2 and ended with “That’s all.” Right? And I almost didn’t catch that the sign off at the end could be Miranda-coded.

I hear you.

But the film isn’t out into May 1st.

I know it’s not the same but Scream 7 is out on 27th February and NOBODY has been allowed to view it, it’s locked down so nothing leaks.

We are only talking about a song, not a storyline. So I think it is still very possible the song has been legitimately kept a secret if part of DWP2.

It has to be revealed eventually, but my guess is by this point IF it is in the film and WB want it on LOCK DOWN and top secret; they have managed to keep it from most people involved in making the movie. The music is always added later anyways.

If the plan is to aggressively push the album and go all-in to make it a commercial success, then a big name collaboration for the lead single is a must. It's just the way it is. A solo single would seriously struggle on its first week, whereas a Sabrina collaboration will immediately reach a wide audience. I personally wouldn't mind a completely solo album but then you should be prepared for a performance similar to Madame X and an era that lasts for a few weeks.

That’s what I’m saying. Sure, it’s not been previewed for audiences in general. But, sorry, the film editor is going to be working with the music coordinator. Not to mention the people who mix audio (dialogue and ambient sound with music).

I’m not saying a ton of people. But MORE people than would typically be involved with a Madonna album/first single launch. There’d be a film studio involved instead of “just” the label.

Especially if this is — worst-case scenario — a “Bond theme” situation and not a “Beautiful Stranger” situation. Imagine if Madonna’s delivering a bona fide theme song for the film, plays out over the credits … like …

The Devil Wears Dolce, Too

or

(The Devil Wears Prada, But) God Wears Gaultier

or

… something else.  My point is … we don’t know the situation yet. What if this whole opportunity came to light and they *did* delay, but it is because the new song gets to be in the film, but then we don’t get the album until six months later (November — original COADF timeline)…?

This seems outlandish, of course. But right now, we just don’t know for sure yet. So there are possibilities…

I hear you and absolutely certain people need to be involved, but I do think it’s plausible it’s in and everyone has kept quiet.

Maybe those editors don’t give a shit about a new Madonna song anyways so won’t leak it to anyone ? 😜

Love those song titles 🤣🤣

In my opinion if the album was finished last year before Christmas, which is what we all believe, then there has to be a reason she isn’t shooting anything until February…..so that’s where DWP2 comes in. It makes sense to wait until Q2 but nothing is concrete, I am just joining the dots together.

I doubt it’s coming in November 🤣 That would be crazy but I get your flow there’s a ton of possibilities!

Personally I’ve always been more interested in her delivering something that creates critical acclaim for the music rather than commercial success in this era of her career.

Oh, yes, sorry … I didn’t mean that “because more people know about it, it should have leaked by now.” These are all professional people, they would likely have NDAs in place … No one would have been able to secretly record and leak it.

Even when M has recorded with orchestras and choirs (think about Messiah and NF and God Control/Come Alive) … we didn’t get loose lips online bragging about how they were gonna be featured on Madonna’s next album. Footage of films like that would all be tagged/watermarked so that a source would be apparent if it were pirated.

I just meant, some additional people — beyond Madonna’s creative team and label — would be in the know by now, even if it isn’t completely finalized. (And it is possible one of those people downstream has caught wind of it and is hinting cryptically on the internet that something is coming.)

But it’s also possible a fan with an imagination is misleading gullible folks like me into believing something is happening when it is not. We could see the film in May and there’s nothing, not even a new version of Vogue. So … I’m not getting my hopes too high yet.

I mean … I’m not hoping for November, but … if that song were to be used prominently enough in the film (like a theme or credit song — which might get Madonna the possibility to be considered for an Oscar nom) … then they might wait six months to include it on the album. And maybe the streams could still be applied to her album, who knows? But I do hope the album is coming sooner than November, obviously. Just finding the silver lining if there is one in waiting that long. (And maybe we’d get more singles pre-album release, then.)

"keep streaming" meaning nothing else is coming?

who was the one who said something was coming on 3/27 and then we found out COADF vinyl is being reissued that day? they were either mistaken (but do have some inside info, if vague) or both things are actually happening on that day. we need to compile all of the info from the various sources in one thread in chronological order like the genesis timelines. 😅

they probably all signed NDAs. or there's a placeholder song being used until the last minute.

as we already talked about, even if the DWP2 rumor is false, there's nothing unusual about a Q2 release for an album that was still being recorded/mixed at the end of last year.

No, I think what Dazed said (keep streaming La Bambola) was meant as “nothing is imminent” when others were pressing him because: Pensiero Stupendo/second commercial; February 13/14 was the second special date (after the last Fri in January came and went — all of which was from LindebergBoy); the Grammys were coming etc etc. So it was like he was saying, all those rumors are not substantiated by what he’d seen.

Someone else (to my recollection) initially mentioned March 27 … but someone pointed out later that they could have seen a schedule that just said MADONNA (and they misinterpreted) … OR … they saw the code name “Disco Nights” (like Naptime) and didn’t know it would end up being silver series COADF. So … yeah, they had access to something, but … it didn’t actually matter in terms of the new album.

I could be wrong, but I thought Mystical Green Unicorn said the March 27. Either that or it was stated privately by someone who quietly exited the Infinity forum’s thread about it, and created their own site or server dedicated to rumors. And then it was repeated on Infinity by someone like LindebergBoy, so … he may appear right, but he wasn’t the actual source.

And, yes, this. Even if the album was completely done/dusted by Thanksgiving, nothing is delayed/late from that timeline. The vinyls couldn’t really even be finished by now (given Christmas/holidays).
