I hear you. I have been one of the fans/members on here that had raised concerns about La Bambola being released closely to the lead single, and the fact it could cause confusion about which track Madonna is coming back with for her new album/era. Not everyone agreed with that, but that was my opinion. Now the song is out with some huge admin mistakes it appears that the general consensus is now that WB also have that idea, and to separate this D&G exclusive from COADF2, they have purposely not included correct dates on uploads ect. However, although I stand by my early concern I totally agree with @bardo I find it very very hard to believe WB would purposely do this. They didn’t have to release the song at all. Whats to gain? Not much, they could have kept it for the advert and maybe dropped it post-COADF2 release later on in the spring….. Hiding a new release is crazy, they have decided to release it on digital platforms so therefore it should absolutely be supported with the current credits ect. I think it’s sloppy amateur uploading, which is unforgivable, it’s so fucking easy to get the basics right.
Shaun Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Lol Confessions was not a wall-to-wall banger fest. At all. Even Hard Candy had more uptempo stuff.

Confessit II Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Just now, bardo said: and the fact that they've mislabeled so many other releases in the past, not to mention the dozens of other basic errors they've made, the simplest and most obvious answer is that it's just a lazy mistake. Exactly. They have form on this kind of thing in the past. The manta of WB are purposely mislabeling the track to keep it from getting mainstream to allow the lead single to shine I think it pure fan fiction.

dollhouse Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Im happy La Bambola have its place to shineI dont mind the collasion with the "lead single", they should fix the release date
Confessit II Posted January 9 Posted January 9 37 minutes ago, Shaun said: Lol Confessions was not a wall-to-wall banger fest. At all. Even Hard Candy had more uptempo stuff. I would disagree. Obviously not every song is Hung Up, but it’s upbeat throughout and I think you can dance to most of the track listing. Hard Candy had more melodic & slower moments on it I think, but both COADF & HC had big dance moments.
micco Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else, but do we know if there are any others collaborators, songwriters or producers, on her upcoming album or is it solely a Madonna-Price product?

Crux Posted January 9 Posted January 9 1 hour ago, Shaun said: Lol Confessions was not a wall-to-wall banger fest. At all. Even Hard Candy had more uptempo stuff. I disagree. The only slow-ish songs to me were "Push" and "Like It Or Not"
Rain Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hasn’t M said herself that she wanted COADF to be 100% a dance album and that’s even why they made it a continuous mix? Yes, there are a few slower moments like “Forbidden Love,” but it’s still a dance record through and through. I hope M16 is has the same etheral vibe
JayMac Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I still think we are not getting a lead single till closer to the release of Devil wears Prada 2. Especially now that we are hearing that the first single mentions all these fashion designer houses, and she has been hinting a tie in with the movie back in Nov.

I think there might be a few shocked fans who think the album is coming in the next 2 months. I can fully believe it will drop in May.
ConfessYourself Posted January 9 Posted January 9 So we're still going with the Devil Wears Prada rumor…

"vogue" was used in the trailer and she shared it. what else?
Shaun Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I typed up a long response, but I'm so fucking tired. I don't care. You guys are right. I'm wrong.

strictmachine Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Why couldn’t it be both coming soon and in devil wears Prada? I thought everyone wants longevity? If they’re going to try and create some legs to the song that would require tactics in both the short and longer term, so I don’t see how one precludes the other.

You are expecting too much from Team M.

It will be one of the most talked about movies of the year and will be a big box office grosser as well who wouldn’t want a new Madonna track in it? I think WB saw the success of LAP in Deadpool and they have form in getting Jump in the first one, it’s a no-brainer to get streams up higher, which she will absolutely need this year as much as she can get. It is just a rumour I know with no base of truth yet but one thing I think we can all be certain of is there will be a pre order period. RH/MX had 2months, I doubt they’ll be a shorter run, even Taylor had that for her album and she isn’t a legacy artist who needs it. So even if the lead single drops next month that puts us to April anyways, but in answering your point I would prefer longevity and for WB to scatter promo across Q1 & Q2 to give the record legs and getting the new songs into films/TV ect is a platform that will benefit.

I really believed MX was going to be her last album with all of her aspirations to finally conquer Hollywood as a director and all. I’m just happy there is an entire new album dropping this year (). Allegedly it will drop. I tease I tease.
Confessit II Posted January 9 Posted January 9 15 minutes ago, Cyber-Raga said: Cut her some slack. You are expecting too much from Team M. It all depends what Madonna wants to do this time I guess as to how far WB go with it and her team. It’s been 7 years since Madonna released a record, the first Confessions came at a moment Madonna went out there to reclaim her commerciality & throne after AL, and she unleashed a dynamic & very detailed and busy promo campaign. WB supported it but Madonna herself was everywhere, she even went to Japan to promote it! I don’t think she ever went that far to promote an album outside of a tour….it was a mega campaign. Obviously things are different now, she’s 67 and it isn’t 2005 where she is guaranteed hits ect. The days of long eras for Madonna albums ended almost 20 years ago anyways. Touring an album has been Madonna main source of promo since she left WB compared to what she did to promote when she was with them. Im not saying WB will lay on another era like 2005, but I think it largely depends, as it did in 2005 with how much Madonna wants to put in. She has nothing to prove, but it’s been almost a decade since we had an album, it sounds like she had a killer record in the bag and she might want WB and Guy to arrange a big campaign for her this year. I hope so from a selfish fan point of view, but I just long for another amazing Madonna album listening experience
strictmachine Posted January 9 Posted January 9 There’s plenty they could do to extend the impact of either the single or album with things like playlisting and placement in movies that don’t require any effort from Madonna. Previously I would say there’s a zero percent chance of an actual well thought out longterm strategy being in place but I’m willing to suspend disbelief and see what Warner will or won’t do as her first foray back there with an (allegedly) high quality new product. Of course I am not holding my breath though.

Usually it’s 1 or 2 big interviews & an awards performance. There great, but this time I think she would benefit from multiple podcasts & a YT exclusive performance of tracks of the album to maximise visibility online, a big radio interview campaign force them to play her new song. It does require Madonna in person to get behind it as well, not just WB whoring the lead single out on every playlist for 2 weeks.

This and I consider her a true pop artist...no album has been anything in the purest form including Confessions..i remember going to the Confessions tour and these two guys were talking about how disappointing the show was bc it had slower movements and repetitive choreo ( Sorry)...i disagree but have never thought Confessions was a pure dance album..it feels that way maybe imo bc the continuous mix @Shaun
