I have wondered if the releases of Veronica Electronica and BSTUC in the formats they have released then have been to indicate to Warners exactly how many variants or formats they should press for the new album. These releases would have been eaten up by her hard-core fan base so surely they have been able to assess how many of which format to go for? It feels like a useful scouting trip for that reason?

But isn’t that what the pre order period is for?

WB will know exactly how many Confessions2 to make based on the amount of pre orders they receive, I doubt the legacy EP range will be used as a metric for the new album.

I suspect at least 3-5 physical variants, will some Spotify exclusives to try and increase online sales and I think potentially a pre-order this time of upto 4 months. The longer the pre-order, the bigger opening week of sales.

Out of all the suggestions for album title I still think Algorithms or Algorithm are very cool and on point!

But I am now almost convinced she will go ahead and call it Confessions On A Dance Floor Part 2.

M, Stuart & WB will all be wanting some kind of commercial success. Madonna has already teased C2, and has started to align herself to that era.

From a marketing standpoint it makes perfect sense. Personally, I would prefer the album to have its own unique title, but I appreciate it has been born out of an idea of a sequel.

The most important thing here is the quality of the album anyways, if that is there, with another killer lead single then that’s exactly where Madonna in 2026 ought to be

I really like algorithms too, but someone in another forum said something that made me stop and think: what if the title dates too quickly? Will people still be using the term 'algorithm' when referring to online content distribution, especially after AI takes over? No idea, but it kind of made sense?

Absolution would be SO MUCH BETTER than either Confessions II or Algorithms and would make so much sense, so I guess they will not go down that route.

But without the COADF before it, is it obvious enough to make sense?

If she does go with part 2 I wonder if it will be just the number 2, or the word part or if she will use something like deux to make it a tad more interesting?

Absolution is based on the idea of being absolved (not absolute). 

I like the idea — it fits well in her larger canonical framework, and it is definitely the next logical step following a confession.

Given that she has already spoken about the theme of forgiveness and one song is “Forgive Yourself,” I can definitely see Absolution making sense with the content of the album, too (not just being “clever” or grabbing any old religious term for old time’s sake, without any real connection to the music itself).

I miss the old song lengths as well, but I have a feeling Madonna will move with the times, especially if she wants the album to penetrate the mainstream. I think WB will be pushing for it as well.

Like it or not, shorter songs are easier to playlist, are better built for viral shares on tictok YT shorts and it appears the short form approach is used by practically all pop artists today?

Don’t get me wrong, I can’t imagine the glorious Frozen or Vogue being squeezed into 3 minutes, but how many songs Pop songs released today, especially lead singles, are 4-5 minutes long?

I think most are around the 3 minute mark?
