Id imagine they’ll be a full D&G commercial, then a shorter version, the one we are more likely to see on TV and on social media.

I suspect an instrumental of the song but with some lyrics from Madonna herself, but this is a perfume advert not a music video so I think we will get a tiny hint, having said that if I have understood the rumours correctly, this is a last minute decision to pull the Patty cover and use the lead single, could that mean Madonna & WB are ready to go quicker than anticipated?

Hopefully there is a plan in place and this cannot hurt, but I agree with much of your comments, this D&G perfume ad isn’t going to set the worlds press on fire, it’s nice exposure but I think it will minimal visibility in the long run.

It’s my understanding both Dazed & Ragazzo have confirmed they are now using the lead single to accompany the advert.

Maybe few lines in italian in the First Song or Sanremo, which Is in february. However, If She Will perform there, we Will know soon..the battage for the festival Is in full mode.

I actually think it’s a good promotional approach, if the song gets positive press and buzz around the advert, it will intrigue towards the unveiling of the actual full lead single….

But dropping the lead single straight away because a version of it is used in a D&G advert I think is a mistake WITHOUT a lot more promo to happen the week of release, it’s going to need more than an advert that will take a few weeks to become embedded to the public to raise awareness of it.

I agree with everything, especially the part I bolded. 

I mean, ultimately it just depends on how they use the song in the ad. Though I agree that the ad is also probably not gonna make a huge splash; though if the song is really THAT good and if the ad is of quality, it could go viral. I mean everything goes viral these days... like a french ad for a supermarket went viral worldwide.... so I would be them, I would maybe not release it as it is, but in case it does go viral before the intended release date of the single, I would be prepared to roll the song out even without its MV. 

I don't think it would be detrimental to release a song without its MV yet, in case the ad goes viral, but yeah I do think that they shouldn't release it if the ad is not making that many waves. But that's why I think that just using the instrumental mix, or just a couple lines as was said above would be the best solution to ensure it teases enough without being detrimental in the loss of  steam. But, I'm just yapping for yapping sake cause i'm so excited I need to talk about this xD

i'm wary of any insider who promises certain fans/countries will not be disappointed or that a song is as good or "better" than a past hit. it's all subjective. just stick to facts and details and let everyone else decide if it's great or not. 

anyway, madonna sampling her own music is something i've been suggesting for months, but i kind of expected/hoped it would be something more obscure. but i trust (hope?) that stuart has done it in a subtle/creative way that the song can stand on its own. we already got IDSIF, which was cute but IMO not the banger everyone seems to think it is. i did start to warm up to the idea of a "rhythm is a dancer" sample - or even "good life" by inner city, which madonna has used multiple times in her posts over the last few years. 

it's too bad the oct/nov timeline didn't work out, but maybe it's for the best. hopefully she can make an impact before the other big expected releases drop!

My theory is that the album might have a strong italo disco flavor to it, since she collabed with disco bambino

The music video could have been shot along the ad, we'll see. But ironically, Billboard will no longer be counting YouTube views for their charts starting from January so it's not like now she needs to release both song and video at the same time to maximize the chart performance:

That also their new rules where they downsize the numbers of streams to count as an album sale will make even more difficult for Madonna to score and mantain top chart placements there.

I was initially annoyed with the postponement but it seems like she made the right decision as she can extend the promotional campaign throughout the year. January seems like a slower month to put out music and if she has a great first single, it might get even more attention than any of us are expecting. in 2024, Megan Thee Stallion release that Nicki Minaj diss track and it went off pretty quickly as it was a salacious release but also with very timid competition. Warner might be on the money with this strategy. 

What has been interesting is seeing how fast some rumors have died in the last few weeks. The Karol G collab seems the complete BS and it looks like we might be having a full solo project for the first time in years. She might collab with new producers instead of just inviting the trendiest starlet of the year.

I am still not convinced any insider has actually heard Madonna’s lead single.

Therefore it’s all second hand information. I bet there’s a very SELECT few people at this stage outside of Madonna’s key circle at WB that have actually heard the final chosen mix.

All this it’s the next Vogue & Hung Ups spiritual sister is all added in stuff IMO.

Sounds like a very obvious guess though?

Is anyone expecting a ballad or an rnb lead single from Madonna & Stuart ?  Any old Queen could have said this to describe the new lead single.
