Even if this ceasefire holds and even if there is some kind of peace, I wonder how Israel as a country, as a nation, will try to rebuild their reputation around the world. I think, what matters most is what the citizens of Israel will do and I fear they will not do the necessary. They will not hold Netanyahu and his cabinet responsible, they will not do anything about the settlers, which I think is the biggest issue of all. Israel has lost so much sympathy from other nations and I am not sure most people there have realized it yet. From my view, Israel has to thank their religious right and US evangelicals, the most toxic mixture one can imagine, for the situation they are in. And this morning, some Israeli polticians once more asking for Donald Trump to receive the Noble Peace Prize? Peace? Is there peace already? And why should the president of the very country, that is actively involved in basically every war or military conflict, by meddling in foreign politics, by covert military action, by weapons delivery, by creating instability and other interference, a president who only knows about blackmailing other nations, instead of diplomacy and collaboration, be awarded with a peace prize?
