A couple of users on Madonna Infinity have posted this about the album recently:

"My contact has said (and they are close to Guy) that the album is ‘so fucking good’ and pays homage to house the same way Confessions pays homage to disco.

Apparently she wants too happy with how Warner treated FEL and is shopping the album around to other labels.

So this means it’s very close to benign dork or is done but she’s being a diva. FEL is almost platinum in the UK and her streaming really improved since Warner took over again.

Of course grains of salt, I wish I had something more concrete"

"Here in NY, helped out at an art event where they played the following songs; and the DJ said, “I’m playing these cause this fall you all are about to hear them in new light- by our dear mother, did I say too much? (then he laughed)”.

I hope he wasn’t joking, I hope he was referencing Madonna (I’m 90% sure since I know a few more details) yet I noted the songs he played.

Your Love- Frankie Knuckles

Move Your Body- Marshall Jefferson

Overdose- Tomcraft

French Kiss- Lil Louis, The World

Anyway; thought I’d post. If I’m speculating into what he said too much- then sorry. But thought I’d post this just in case!"

Thanks for sharing! Most of this is promising … Not entirely thrilled about the idea that she’s shopping around the album (?!) … although I guess it could be okay in the end if she holds the control of the material and only licenses the music out to a label for a limited period of time (as with the Interscope records, which have now all reverted to her and she has, in turn, licensed them over to Warner/Rhino for the legacy projects). If so, in the end, she’ll have control of them and can allow them to join the rest of her catalogue eventually.

I’m not familiar with the house tracks — I’ll have to check them out. Not sure if this just means sampling bits or … if this was a bit like the preview Stuart did with the Hung Up instrumental during the summer leading up to the release of COADF.

Yeah, I doubt how reliable the info from those members are, but at this stage of her career I doubt any other record label would offer her a better deal and campaign for a new album than Warner but we'll see. The house tracks are these:

Well that sounds promising.

I can see her doing something fabulous with with all of them, tbh...especially French Kiss. 😍

I think most people know the Jamie Principle / Frankie Knuckles sample in Candy Staton's You Got The Love...

Thank you @Anne for the info it’s very exciting !

I am sure Madonna wants to give the new album the very best shot, especially if her and Stuart have got some amazing music in the bag 🤩

Those house tracks played sound incredible and that’s exactly the arena we are all hoping Madonna and Stuart attend!

:Disco_Ball:

We are all here for some serious dance anthems I really do think the album will knock it out of the park and be celebrated for its quality, it will put Madonna back into the public consciousness of being able to STILL deliver high class pop music.

But at this point, I cannot see how any other label can give the album a better platform in terms of commercial success.

If she has a fantastic album recorded I don’t blame her shopping around, but she needs some great PR for it as well.

Didn’t she hire a new PR team for ROL?

It is a tad worrying if she isn’t trusting Warners with this new material……but I did suspect this after the mishaps for the legacy campaign.

Without renting someone out for the lead single to attract major streams (like the Weeknd) the album won’t be a major player in terms of commercial impact anyways.

I don’t think it matters which label releases it…….she can hire someone in for the lead single on any label.

But if she does decide to sign with another label for this new release, it tells us EVERYTHING we need to know about the legacy campaign, behind the scenes the whole contract has now fallen apart.

Yeah, I agree. Warner is probably now being run by a different set of people to when she was with them 20 years ago, so I can't say I'm surprised she's shopping around.

Then again, putting her faith in another label is a huge gamble. At least with Warner it's a case of better the Devil you know and all that.

Totally agree.

At this stage of the game, after the mishaps and such with Interscope, I am surprised she is considering going elsewhere anyway!

I mean her entire back catalogue is now with Warners, and the legacy campaign is still live and kicking (even with its obvious issues).

But if she has cooked up some incredible new music I don’t blame her wanting the very best.

But the album naturally has a ceiling of commercial success it can achieve due to Madonna being 65 and at this stage of her career.

Im not convinced another label can do anything more, it will stick and have traction or it won’t.

I totally agree. I think Madonna probably has maybe a million fans worldwide that will potentially buy a new album. She could write and record an album that was on par with Like A Prayer or Ray Of Light and it wouldn't get the attention it would deserve due to her age etc. I think she's going to have to have the critics on her side, deliver an album that is actually good AND promote the hell out of it. But if anyone can do it,Madonna can.

💯

The most important thing here is a triumphant return to a solid brilliant pop album to knock the generic sounds of 2025 the other pop girlies are churning….straight out the park!

She definitely needs to promote and in many way, although obviously it’s different to the first Confessions, there’s a feeling of reestablishing herself again as the first mistress of pop music.

But a huge commercial runaway success is not going to happen but as you say, a real critical acclaimed album will do wonders for her at this point rather than chasing a big streaming impact.

For me, unless it someone like The Weeknd where it is a real suitable collaboration (which it could be) to sell the album, the only thing any record label will try and do is bring it an artist with streaming form to sell the lead single.

If it’s an amazing album anyways, at this point just forget that nonsense.

A little insight about this:

- Both are new users on MInfinity (like, they almost created accounts to post that), so there's no way to track how reliable they are.

- The “Warner doesn't like the album” is a rumor that started a few weeks ago, but doesn't seem to hold any truth to it

- The second rumour it's somewhat a bit more believable due to how specific it was. Fan fiction or not, it has more interesting elements to make you wonder.

yeah it's all rumors and noise so far

I do hope she won't leave WR again, otherwise it'll be interscope all over again: M won't be a priority, he singles/albums releases will be fucked up, streams will suffer, etc you name it

he streaming game has improved a lot since she got back with WR (but it still needs work) and at least we've got a few certs here and there since too and more music releases (that we wanted those releases depends on what each fan wanted tho 😅 ) some might be happy but some wanted either a more fleshed out or  chronological release that was in tune and aligned with proper anniversary type products

also of note , seems some forums are filled with trolls and that one seems to never boot them out no matter the stupid things they post , there's also a bunch of scammers there as well

I don't care if what those two people said end up being complete bullcrap, I'm way too happy to have a little bit of speculation 😭😭

I need it so baaaaad!!! and if what those people reported is true, then it will probably be a fall album 😍

I used to laugh when people would post fake song titles and lyrics to songs that they'd supposedly heard. I've already been told by 2 Madonna "fans" of alleged song titles. I'm hopeful that this album will be released in the autumn and be an absolute smash! We need some solid bops from The Queen!

It does sound like stuff any of us could throw together.

The only part for me that could be genuine is Madonna scoping another label to release and promote the new album.

I base that on activities, and lack of, from the legacy campaign.

Theres obviously conflict behind the scenes so I do think it is believable she wants another label to do it over WB.

if it's true she wasn't happy with how FEL was handled, i wonder why. it seems like it couldn't have gone better. there were no new songs to promote so it's not like she could be unhappy with not having a hit. and if it is true, i wonder if that's why the reissues haven't materialized. the idea that another label could do any better than warner at this point is pure fantasy. "success" for this album will be if the fans love it and if it gets great reviews. anything beyond that (like a "padam padam" situation) is going to be difficult and will just be icing on top at this point.

💯

The Padam Padam moment was absolutely driven by Kylie herself to be fair. She went out and promoted her arse off.

She went on every TV show and showed up at every event going here in the UK, which is her main market now.

The song is not that good so I absolutely applaud her for totally exhausting the UK market like she did, and it had its moment

Madonna has multiple markets I cannot see her rolling out that kind of campaign so it’s a different kettle of fish.

Im not sure I believe she was pissed with how FEL was handled. Like you say there were no new songs and she didn’t really promote it anywhere so what was there to expect ? It was a remix greatest hits essentially, it wasn’t even a traditional greatest hits moment.

What she needs is better PR ultimately, or a willingness to play the game a bit more (not that she has too) alongside the quality of the goods.

But ultimately, whether it’s WB or anybody the result will be the same at this point.

I don't get how she could be disappointed with how Warner's treated FEL. It was just a remix album which already is of little interest to the general public and got multiple physical releases including 2 box sets! Therefore, I don't think that's true.

FEL did great for a Remix GH album in 2022. And she didn't even promote it that much. It was Top 3 everywhere in the world and Top 10 in the USA. And did solid streaming and selling numbers.

Warner even invested in the promo of the album on Google and Meta. I remember seeing ads kinda frequently, and even tho I know it was because of my preferences, it was 200% more than what I got to see for her Interscope releases.

Who knows how true any of this is but leaving Warner's for this would be a mistake. For better or worse she is a priority there, and she won't be somewhere else.

She may not have been very happy with the FEL treatment but I also don't recall her going massively out of her way to make that campaign happen either. It's a two way street to some extent.

Anyways, here's hoping something is coming soon!

That’s true. It was just a remix greatest hits album though, but what you are saying has a lot of relevance.

We all remember the out of the box promo she did for MDNA when she started with Interscope 🤣

We have no idea what she is thinking, but I’d imagine if she is really proud of the new music she has recorded she will want to go out and really work it.

But I don’t think any label is going to be paying much to release a new Madonna album. They simply don’t stand to make much money back from it.

What I don’t understand is how has she been funding the recording sessions and who owns the new album right now?

Is it all independently funded/recorded by Madonna & Stuart themselves? So Madonna has done it all herself and I’m assuming paid for the studio time and come to an arrangement with Stuart? As she has no contract in place for new music so WB (I assume) have not facilitated any of this new album.

So she is now offering the finished product to distribute/promote?

Did she even let WB know last year she was recording a new album? Does she even have to tell them?

I really hope that the new album is very good. I so tired of reading “the last good album of Madonna is COADF”.

For so much of the mainstream and the press it is

But I think this release will totally change that narrative.

FEL did very well considering there was no new material, much of it was already available, songs were omitted (CAC!), it wasn't mixed like a DJ set, she did very little promo, and a bunch of songs were just radio edits. LOL.

I dont get it either, FEL was pretty big in the UK (2nd best chartin remix album ever)

There’s nothing TO get. She never said she was unhappy with FEL. Some rando on Madonna infinity did. And now people are picking it apart as if she did and it’s reality instead of pure random conjecture from a nobody.

well, duh. we're speculating what the reason could be and since there doesn't seem to be one, it's likely not true. but then that probably means none of the info about the sound, etc. is true.

i'm personally excited with what they could come up with for the album, especially since stuart spent months working on the music for CT and had access to all of the original stems - would be cool if he used some as samples on the album. like why pay for an ABBA sample when you have madonna's entire discography at your fingertips?

+1. It would be a really cool idea for Madonna to self-reference in her new songs. Befitting of her work, but mostly, of how the general public perceives her work, being the mother of reinvention and all that. It could be a very interesting experiment.
