I’m rooting for the west even though I live in the third world because I was highly influenced by western culture growing up and feel indebted to it. Here’s where my beef with Madonna began. I love her Madame X album. It’s a glorious work of art but the messaging was utterly bonkers . What she needed to do was send out a wake up call to her countrymen to defend and protect the very country and culture that allowed her to blossom into the accomplished artist that she is today.

I don’t disagree … but can already hear “the demo is better” x1000 as soon as the album is released.

But it would be nice to have it officially. Maybe even just as the demo cleaned up and released as a B side or bonus track to one of the singles. 

I do hope she’ll have a newer song that explores the same theme and emotions because she has gone through a lot since she worked on Never Let You Go, so … she may have something different to say now, too. But I do think Never Let You Go touches one of the areas we would expect this album to.

She must add Never Let You Go, keep it as the demo and just add a bit more to it make it less demo-ish. Not rework like what happened to Beautiful Scars.

Could her dad and his age/condition be a reason she seemingly hasnt worked on music for a while now?

There's rumours he's living with her now. He has gone through severe loss and has been diagnosed with parkinsons.

I think she will be keeping an eye on him nowadays and that’s totally understandable.

Whether or not it has halted work on the album I’m not sure.

But if he ever got really sick I do think she would go to be with him.

i'm saying rework it because it's 10 years old and wasn't originally written for chris. she would need to change the lyrics and completely re-record it. i doubt it would be a BS situation. production-wise there's nothing special about it, so stuart could probably work some magic.

I also think Stuart could do a great job reworking the song. I just want the beautiful melody to remain intact. I understand re-singing it with new lyrics, though the song as it is can be interpreted for Chris or her mom while also have the simple layer of someone you love (as a love interest). The final version of Beautiful Scars obscured the nice melody with the change of key for the instrumental and made it dissonant. It was still an interesting take and I do not think it is bad per se, but the gorgeous bridge (never say never, everything is possible...) lost all the spark for me. It was my favorite part of the song.

Have we got any indication at all the album is actually ready and mixed and Warners are preparing a release date?

It’s just I’m reading a lot of stuff following her recent IG posts that she is preparing to shoot visuals for the album this summer ahead of its release this October/November.

Is this just fan speculation or has anything leaked to say the album is ready now?

Confessit, probably just wishful thinking. If the release date was so imminent, I bet she would have given us more clues/teasers. 

I stand by my hunch, though, that she's tweaking the album so it disturbs the peace a bit more.

it's purely fan speculation. every time she does any kind of photoshoot people think something big is coming and it's usually a nothingburger. 

IF there is an album coming this year my hunch is that it's near completion. if she were still recording, i think she'd be posting pics of herself with stuart in the studio. that said, if she's signed a new deal with warner to release it, they may be taking charge and convinced her not to post anything about it. that's my hope, anyway.

After Bedtime Stories EP I think that’s a good idea.

I can’t see Madonna releasing the new album with anybody else. From this year, her entire collection of released albums are under WB, they are also in the midst of a legacy campaign, so it wouldn’t make any sense for her to release the new album with anybody else.

Hopefully, Madonna & Warners will be working in harmony on this new album, and can put any mishaps on the legacy front to one side to concentrate on launching a successful and fruitful new era.

I hope there isn’t any bitterness behind the scenes.

The last thing we want are M & WB at loggerheads for the new era!

Do you remember the clock on her website (back when it was worth visiting and pre social media taking centre stage) I remember it counted down every day it was so exciting!!!

She certainly knew how to launch a massive pop era and get everyone excited !!

If the new album is truly to be a sequel of COADF, well I know times have changed culturally, but I wouldn’t mind some sparkling crumbs being left ahead of album release day again

(If it hasn’t been shot already, that is …? We don’t really know one way or another. We do know she’s had some Zoom calls with Mert Alas — which seemed work-related and therefore could be an album cover shoot. I think when she the shoots the artwork she'll give us a little tease, she usually can't help herself lol...

But with MX it was the apple (slicing up the apple)… or maybe that was the Medellín video?

I think people helped piece together the RH album shoot by a post from Mert Alas later on, unless I’m mistaken.

Even other video shoots — like when she did a cameo for Snoop and when she did Popular … we didn’t know what they were until later (although I think some suspected it was a professional shoot when she posted some photos that turned out to be BTS of the Popular shoot).

My point is that it’s hard to tell. We got those recent shots with the hooded cape, but who knows if that was anything or just another IG shoot. We may not be able to tell until later, in hindsight.

The shorter hair looks fierce.

No more extensions.

I hope she brings a brand new identifiable hair style for the new album, like she did with the first COADF.

Not a ton of different images like MX, but something very specific and precise for the lead single/artwork.

I hope we get an award show performance, it’s been such a long time since the last one!

I do think if the album is coming out in March next year (which I personally think is more likely) then she could perform at the Grammys & BRITs.

Im sure there would be plenty of hype around it as it is a return to music for her after her longest hiatus.

I hope behind the scenes Warners are trying to maximise the impact of the launch for the new era and they’ll be a few high profile appearances.

Went to a party yesterday night, and many asked me when Madonna was releasing the new album (they know I'm a big Madonna fan). I told them that I didn't know, but at least the album is on the radar already to non Madonna fans too.

What if they decided to release VE to lay the groundwork for dance Madonna? You know, to remind people of *that* Madonna before M15 drops? This would mean that we can in fact expect a dance album.

We know that already though by the fact she is working with deejay pop dance producer Stuart Price, and Madonna herself has teased COADF2.

I don’t think VE has anything to do with the new album or the new era. I think it is being released because BS EP for cancelled/delayed.
