I only know le freak and thought the title was say chic.

He name drops her regularly and she does not. I am a Madonna fan but have never listened to a Chic album and can’t name a single chic song. 51 minutes ago, bardo said: that makes sense i guess. but nile only produced one madonna album and it's not one that she's particularly fond of, so i don't know why she would talk about him unless she was specifically asked. that said, she mentioned him in her hall of fame speech and recently posted photos from that rollerstaking event that they both attended (can't remember what it was for). anyway, chic is great. surely you know "le freak," "good times," and "i want your love." they're iconic disco songs! I think you're both missing the point. The crowd were a very casual fan middle-aged group at a summer festival type of event. I doubt many of them owned a single Chic album. The point is the general indifference to Madonna from pretty middle of the road music lovers.

Chic was more disco and Madonna came later with different sound, perhaps they just dont like it

Much ado about nothing..particularly the lack of applause from Middle Aged folk that likely prefer their music pre-1985. Agreed I wouldn’t clap for a chic anything..tbh the MJ part of the Celebration Tour was my least fave.

It was a Chic concert supported by en vogue and Shalamar. But it's part of a summer range of gigs in middle England. Full of just the type of people that would see Ed Sheeran, Taylor etc. Casual music fans. When he played Let's Dance, there was so much more energy in the crowd. There's just a great negative perception towards Madonna, I've noticed.

Let’s see how the Glastonbury crowd react to Madonna as I’d imagine he will play something from LAV in his set on Sunday.

Where I live which is an underdeveloped country western liberalism is regarded as an aberration. Most of the world’s population live in the real world and are unable to relate to western idealism. Still songs like Holiday and La isla bonita are adored and played on the radio to this day where I’m from, and Madonna is still loved and respected down here. I’m suggesting she go back to making music for everyone, that’s all. She did try to clean up her act and played it safe during the Evita years and it payed off, didn’t it? Why not do that now? Cleaned up her act during Evita The role and film demanded that image and approach she was playing Eva Peron she could hardly do press wearing her Dita outfit. Madonna is the embodiment of liberalism. She was at 25, 35,45,55 why should it would she change at 65?

Not to mention the fact that Eva Peron was a very controversial figure herself. That's hardly playing it safe!

Wasn’t that for a shoot during RH era?

Iconic Fetus Posted June 29, 2025 Posted June 29, 2025 I feel like the album will have at least one song about Christopher or losing someone, but not in a moody way or a ballad, I think a song about celebrating life and the memories because when he died she used to post captions around that topic. Her health scare also happened and I think that she will want to celebrate life and dancing.
