The standard actually looks exactly like that, release any singles you had in mind first, then drop the album and then promo stops, you can go on tour

 

my issue was about releasing the first single before the holidays and the album after, not multiple pre-release singles (and in that case my objection is the six-month suggestion - if she's going to release multiple singles or "promo" singles it should be over the course of no more than two or three months to be effective).

If she's gonna release 3 singles, 3 months at max should be the desired timeline (under my non-professional perception). Also, don't premiere the single and then the video a week or two later: make them both available at the same time if you want the visuals to take advantage of the momentum.

The third one should be attached to the album release, so it can feel like an “event”.

That type of intricate choreography is absolutely physically demanding.

To be that sharp and on point takes physical strength.

Madonna moved brilliantly on The Celebration Tour and she still has an amazing body and the camera continues to adore her…

…but expecting a kind of routine from the days of the HN music video is ridiculous in 2025.

And that’s absolutely fine, nobody would expect that in the pure realms of reality.

I love the Mondino videos, but in terms of choreo, it’s a bit of a mixed bag (and that’s not a criticism!) … HN and DTM have strong choreo, and OYH, too. But JML and Hollywood don’t seem as dance-focused (which, again, is fine).

But I really would love to see more videos with some of her outstanding directors from the past — Mondino, Romanek, Fincher — would just love to see another one from each of them. 

PS - Haha, I just remembered LDLHA is also Mondino! Possibly the least movement in a video ever! But then there’s always Hey You to take the cake — no M, no choreo! (I guess I Rise, too…)

This. 3 or 2 singles prior the album would be great. An ideal plan would be lead single in September, 2nd one in October and the 3rd in November along the album release.

Btw, could this be a hint she will be at the VMAs?

Maybe not a performance but just attending unveiling the new look for the new era, like she did at the 94's VMAs prior Bedtime Stories. She will be that week in NYC for that charity dinner gala anyways.

If she really is about to drop a brand new era and the album is coming out this November, as much as the VMAs are largely hot air nonsense in 2025, attending the ceremony and looking absolutely knock out like she did at the MET Gala makes perfect sense to put her back in the public consciousness 

It would kick start the campaign in many ways.

She is in America anyways for the charity gala on September 11th and the VMAs are on September 7th…

….I think there is a strong real possibility of her showing up.

The MTV Europe Music Awards are not happening this year.

Is it too late to usher in a performance for the VMAs? I think so….

So I’m curious, if the album is dropping in November I wonder where/how she will premier the new song ?

Will she do some kind of TV special somewhere ???

There isn’t a high profile event I can think of this year for to perform at ?

Unless she saves it for Grammys/BRITs next year???

madonna has one shot at a "hit" - i don't think follow-up singles are going to make much noise. so she'd better come out strong and focus all of the promo on that ONE song the way kylie did. tossing out two or three singles is not a great move unless they know there's no hope for getting traction for any of them, in which case they're just trying to drum up as much excitement among fans as possible.

If she can pull out another stomper like she did 20 years ago with Stuart, then I guess only ONE song is all she needs to land the album bigtime.

Then it’s about the right promo and getting live performances lined up for the masses to help support it.

The strategy on this release feels like it could seriously go in any direction. 

It’s been years and years and I have a feeling Madonna this time round might be up for many things she hasn’t before.

The old formulas  have eclipsed, bring on what’s good !

I can’t remember the last performance that genuinely got everyone going.

I remember a bit of fanfare online last year because of Katy’s closing performance. Which actually to be fair to her was really good.

But I think that’s because she did a big melody and was being honoured. I never read about any of the rest of last years show.
