I would absolutely love it as I am gaging for Madonna to come back and deliver and show them how it’s done! But I would prefer a big lead single in November and the album to drop next year in February with a 2nd single and performances at the Grammys & BRITs to promote it. Award season would give her some big high profile spots to promote the new stuff. When did Madonna announce officially MX and how long after was it eventually released? I seem to remember it had a decent run on pre orders Id imagine the new album will have at least 2 months of pre orders to maximise the potential of a big opening week and to get to number 1. I think IF the album is happening this year it will be announced by September at the very latest.

I think the announcement needs to happen next month then? Otherwise we are into next year for the new album. I think COADF was announced in August 2005 officially as well….didn’t she announce it around her birthday?
Aries Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 Maybe she’ll vaguely announce it before her long birthday vacation

COADF was officially announced to the world on August 4th 2005 on her website. It was released on November 9th 2005. So of the new album is genuinely ready and she has sorted out who is releasing it (Warners?) and has a promotional campaign agreed, then I think announcing it around her birthday sounds ideal.

And if the album is ready now and going to drop in November, then it’s perfect timing for a birthday announcement? She can’t really go to much beyond August to announce the album for a November release.

Award performances would be nice for fans but barely do anything for album or single sales To secure no.1 spot, they should tie it with Tour tix orders, like MadamX and MDNA

Best would be a big streaming 1st single included on the album with Sabrina or Taylor and to announce Tour on the same day as the album pre-orders open (each ticket sale would include the album pre-order)

But I accept your point a big streaming star on the lead single would bring in massive clicks. I’d rather The Weeknd remix the lead single to generate a big streaming presence! But I think a quality pop album and critical acclaim is worth more than that at this stage of her career. I doubt she is planing another tour next year I might be wrong, I’d love a tour but whether she is in a position to announce that with the album is another thing. We haven’t heard any rumours whatsoever she is touring next year with this album.

I’m not convinced she will title the album Confessions on a dance floor 2 or Confessions 2. I don’t even think she will reference the original title at all it will be a brand new title. I think the post about COADF sequel was to set the tone for the new album and create buzz and excitement about the direction she is going in. I might be wrong totally but that’s kind of where my heads at with it. Therefore releasing it on the 20th anniversary isn’t overly necessary. yeah, i hope it has a unique title and she abandons the whole "sequel" thing. it may gin up interest and press but it will only result in comparisons and disappointment. the fact that it's produced by stuart is enough IMO. 2 hours ago, Crux said: I think she's finished the album and she's gearing up for a late 2025 release. I don't think any big names are releasing then, but you never know. Someone could pull a surprise release like Beyonce and Justin Bieber did. I wouldn't put it past TS to announce something either. i think she should be the one to pull a surprise release. it's been six years and it will generate even more press if it comes out of nowhere. also, we won't have to deal with bad press and social media about the "single" flopping. her chances for a hit are slim to none so why even bother? and if there IS a banger on the album, it can still be a hit when the album drops. 1 hour ago, Confessit said: Beyoncé’s part 3 to her trilogy is coming. Taylor will be back. No idea if those albums could drop this November but it is very possible as both Taylor & Beyoncè dropped from nowhere before. November is empty at the minute for some big leading stars to release but that could change. Does anyone think 2 singles leading up to the new album would be better rather than a one big lead single? i highly doubt taylor and beyonce are dropping albums this year. they just released albums last year. 1 hour ago, elijah said: Definitely. Yet somehow she hasn't gone that route. both MDNA and MX had two pre-release singles.
Rain Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 Even thought I'd love that to happen, I can't believe Madonna would top the charts again at this point, with a solo project. Even if it's crazy good. I'd go even further, I wish she is not chasing a hit single at all costs. I don't care about features anymore. I just hope she making music she enjoys and that we'll be blessed as fans to witness her amazing talent once again.

Yeah, that's true. We know for a fact certain media outlets and specific fanbases make it their life work to spread hate and sabotage a new Madonna product immediately after she announces the release date, so a surprise release would certainly avoid a lot of it. The more I think about it, it would be perfect for her.

It would have been a surprise release, but it’s not much of a surprise now as she told the world 6 months ago she was working on a new album, who she was working with, hinted what it could sound like and even asked who wants new music in 2025……and all that information was widely reported and picked up on by the press. Plus, she has spoken about the new album since then on her social media. So it won’t be a surprise to anyone when we get it. Whether the album has build up with promotional singles and a campaign OR whether she just releases the whole thing next Friday without anything, ultimately, it will do as well as it will do. Haters and saboteurs will have the knives out anyways. It will be a shame though not to have a bit of an era ??? And if Madonna has got a brilliant album under her belt I bet she wants to celebrate it with some razzle dazzle !

I hear you! I mean it could work! Its very un-Madonna to do it but we are in uncharted territory where she can pretty much do what she wants. But would a label think that’s the best idea? And it all depends how long she intends this era to be? Based on her previous eras/albums that runs the risk of her doing a lot of promo and the album has already disappeared from the charts, so she would be turning up and doing promo for an album that has already disappeared But it could work and pick up and give the album longevity, something she hasn’t enjoyed with an album for over a decade. I just don’t believe Madonna will do that anyways. I think she will launch an era to coincide with the albums release IMO.

I hear you and I agree. It would be a fresh approach to it that could give the album longevity. And I agree with you it could do very well outside America. But I suspect a lot of the promo will centre around the states, even though it’s the one market where she has the least chance of penetrating without a huge feature. I just hope she gets some real expertise in to support the album. Whether that’s Warners or whoever, a fresh take on it and some real genuine approach with the placing of the songs on streaming and such. But I think she needs the big boys in to do that.
Aries Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 The only surprise at this point would be if she sings without the grillz in
Sokrates5 Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 I think we’re already in the middle of the new album campaign. We only need to reconsider the way they slowly built the hype for her most amazing The Celebration Tour. Bread crumbs, puzzle pieces, titbits- she’s coming (with little spoilers in the clouds!)

MX and especially RH were not entirely US-centric in the promo. There was almost as much in London as in the US for MX, and for RH she appeared on some European television shows in addition to performing at awards shows in both UK and US. I don’t think her approach was focused only on the US for the last decade at all, and really that holds for all the post-Warner albums. (MDNA was non-traditional promo, remember… just the Super Bowl and a Facetime interview with Jimmy Fallon. Her energy was mainly focused on the tour.)
Cyber-Raga Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 These days you have to release two or three proper singles including videos and remixes and hope for good streaming numbers which then can be added on top of the actual album streaming numbers. This is how most of the “success stories” exist these days. The fact that neither a single nor a video has been dropped suggests to me that a) she is not finished recording at all and doesn’t know which songs will make the final cut yet (which means the album won’t go live this year) b) she doesn’t have any distribution deal for the new album yet c) they are clueless how this is done in 2025 d) Aldo still needs time to finish the artwork for the album while the gardener edits the first video e) all of the above
