She did release Music - the single - in August of 2000 so it's not like there hasn't been a late summer drop. I still have hope... 

i think it's always been pretty clear that archiving her IG was to promote that fashion book. her first new post was a collaboration with CR.

if it wasn't clear then, it's certainly clear now. she archived her account and posted a collaborative post with CR and several other posts to promote the book. then she went back to posting normally. there's obviously no other explanation.

Yeah, exactly. There's not clarification or reasoning behind the archiving of her Insta. And if she DID clear it all for a photo shoot, then I mean, wtf. She can't be THAT far removed from pop culture to not know or understand what it means when a pop star clears off their social media. That's all I'm saying - this happened in February and here we are.

Maybe for Vogue or Rolling Stone but for CR?

It’s not a major publication that would demand that sort of big time social media move is it?

what's the alternate explanation? she literally cleared her IG and then posted it a couple of days later.

Agreed. Archiving her posts immediately preceded the release of the Funeral Rites shoot (with CR). It must have been part of the agreement for her to participate in the promotion of the shoot by clearing her IG. 

You’re right, of course, it got attention. Here’s hoping that if/when she does it next time, it will be for an album announcement. (If there is a next time, I probably won’t immediately assume an album announcement is imminent, though. That’s the trouble with archiving all your posts, I guess… Kind of like a “boy who cried wolf” situation, but … it only affects us, really. Whether we get our hopes up, etc. The media cycle will report, regardless. It’s just the fans like us who are a little misled by it. Although, if anyone snapped up a copy of CR immediately, then perhaps it was worth it. I didn’t act immediately and then they were sold out, so … it works to our advantage to be paying attention. Not everyone wants to splash out on the magazine, though — not in the way we would for a new album, I mean.)
