I’m really hopeful that  Madonna  teaming up with Stuart again  will create magic.
I feel like she has got her mojo back after the success of the CT the great reviews and the fans and general public loving her.  I’m sure that she recognises the reactions and  love that her classic songs received on the CT and it’s inspired her to make another pop masterpiece with her trade mark infectious melodies.

And after nearly dying.

Yes I had a similar thought.

But his mixing of the tour and the opening dj set that he put on Soundcloud gives me strong faith.

People forget again and again that Orbit worked on demos completed by M and Patrick Leonard previously. Those songs were the very anchor of ROL and can't be attributed to William solely. Just compare it to his works on Music. I'm not denying his talent but I just think too much of sole credit is given to him for ROL unfairly and it SHOWS on MDNA. I wouldn't agree on Madame X, that was comparatively the strongest output artistically from Mirwais. So it can go any way.

Anyways guys don't we wanna subforum for this? I'd like to see a thread about potential collaborators, anytime she hinted something music related but was not released. I can only recall that picture of writing with Max Martin, that surely is to be used for the new album? I hope and pray she's been patiently collecting potentially great songs and then had Stuart put it all together as the sole producer.

Oh and anyone remember that TikTok where she used a song which not tagged and just credited as Madonnan it had kinda trance/house vibe to it? In retrospect that sounded very Price!

You’re right. It did actually.

I think it will be a house album, fingers crossed 🤞🏻😍💃

Personally I hope it's more on the French House type of style.

She posted this in late 2022, back when Sickick teased he was working with Madonna on original material

Since then, the other two confirmed artists that have worked with M are Honey Dijon, as stated on her album PR release:

https://honeydijon.bandcamp.com/album/black-girl-magic?label=2484753801

'as well as working in the studio with Madonna on new material'

And of course her own post in 2023 with Max Martin:

Apart from being seen with Mike Dean, Mirwais, Orbit, Arca, FKA Twigs, etc in these past two years. So I wonder if Madonna is going to use all that material, reworked by Price, or after the tour ended they started working from zero.

I think that's actually from her sessions with Sickick. She posted that clip in October 2022 while the first sign that she reconnected with Stuart came in April 2023. Maybe he did rework stuff she recorded previously with Sickick, Honey Dijon and Max Martin for instance...

The best news ever! And i tend to enjoy the period up to the release of the album even more than the actual release with all the excitement, expectations and rumours!

what Stuart made recently:

I've had Jessie Ware's latest music on repeat since it came out. Didn't know it was from Stuart :inlove:

So I’m curious at this point if it’s gonna be a spring or a fall release

looking back at the last two decades:

ROL - spring

Music - fall

AL - spring

COAD - fall

HC - spring

MDNA - spring

RH -  spring

MX - summer

Summer is an exception, fall is too far…. shall we say spring then???

An emotional song with a trance edge like this would be incredible from M. Thinking about those lyrics that were captured from the instagram post, but married with this kind of music... (from the album produced by Stuart)

It really depends when she started to properly work on the album. It usually takes a year between the first time we see her entering a studio again and the actual album release (minus a few exceptions in the 80s, Bedtime Stories and MDNA).
If these are her first weeks in the studio then fall 2025 would seem more likely. We shall see.

anyway we look at it, in 2025 we'll have new Madonna music and it's all that matters

Prior to new album work she was on tour. Prior to that she was sick. Prior to that she was knee-deep in trying to get the bio-pic off the ground and working on a screenplay. And before that she had given us the remix album.

Not defending her lack of attention to the reissue campaign, but it's also not like she was sitting around doing nothing these last few years, either.

the fact that she was doing all of that (i.e., not releasing new music) made it the absolute perfect time to reissue her back catalog. that was the plan and something went awry. maybe one day we'll find out what happened.

Can we not use this celebratory thread to talk shit about Madame X aka one of M's best records?

Thanks

I trust Stuart, and I believe all that happened in M's life since june '23 has inspired her to write beautiful universal songs. It's gonna be everything.

well, it's her last studio album, so comparisons are inevitable.

yes! orbit's production was exciting and fresh at the time, but it's the SONGS that made ROL what it was. songwriting is the foundation for everything.

When people just come for MX as a record it's not really a comparison is it? To each their own taste but one thing MX is not is stale. And to the people who hate it, M will for sure reinvent her sound once more with the next one.

💯

Patrick’s contribution to ROL is absolutely essential.

Totally agree with that. One of the thing that makes ROL so great is Pat Leonard and Rick Knowles songwriting.

Maybe that's the case. Also, wasn't it in late 2020 she was on studio with Mike Dean and The Weeknd co-manager? Is 'Popular' from that session? So perhaps she might have another collab with Abel for her own album?

I d argue their songwriting is more essential to ROL being ROLLING than Orbits contribution and I like him. But Patrick is in another league. But those songs that Stuard Ade lately like Jessie Ware SNAP. I m ready for such club bangers from Madonna!!!

We will know, but what if this is music material that she has been working on for years, to be included in the movie, and since the movie is on "stop"

she decided to turn it into an Lp

it is exactly the way confessional dance floor was made 😃

could be, isn’t it?

That's true but when she first hit the studio at the very beginning of 2014 for rebel heart she did not hint a year. Or when she dropped Dark ballet at met gala and stated using Magic hashtag. Or when she announced she's back in studio in 2011. If she is confidently saying 2025 it must be that they have  specific dates in mind which leads me to believe we're already deep in and close to the finish line. I mean let's not forget it's been 5.5 years since MX, she certainly had time.

That’s an intriguing idea!

Could certainly be this.

We don’t know for sure but it could be that an album was decided post-tour when she was evaluating what she had perhaps?

Lets go down memory lane, shall we...

In March 2014 she started to post quotes from lyrics and pictures taken in the studio. The album was supposed to be released in April 2015 but was moved to March because of the leaks.

First week of July 2011 GuyO posted the news that M was in the studio and that it was the first week recording new music for an upcoming album. MDNA dropped in March 2012, hence my comment that MDNA was finished quicker than what is usual for her.

MX is innovative, challenging and messy. it's not for everyone.

stuart is definitely a better songwriter than orbit. both can be hit or miss when it comes to production. we'll see!
