If we are talking aesthetic for the new album in regards to throwbacks to COADF I wonder if she'll theme the new album shoot and look and fool on another movie again. As the artwork for COADF was entirely based on the rock opera Tommy. Which partly was because the themes in the movie Tommy related to the subject matter on the album and her spiritual journey through Kabbalah in real life. It was glamarous and looked pretty but the entire basis of it all was the theme and deeper meanings of the visuals.

She'll never go for something that just "looks pretty" without it having some sort of foundation in the thematic subject matter of the album.

That's true. I remember a friend of mine was once talking to me about “this rare obscure movie” that he loves, and when he showed me a video from it, it hit us: that was the movie that inspired the Get Together backdrop from the tour. He was also a fan and Get Together is his favorite song, so it was fun watching his face slowly realizing that.

She will always find inspiration in movies, art and books. Wonder what she's on right now to get an idea of what to expect.

Tommy? It's regarded as a classic here in the UK but I suppose in other countries, it's pretty obscure.

Obscure to non-English speaking countries. Someone was saying that The Wizard of Oz wasn't very well known in Germany and it's the same with the Sound of Music. Huge in the UK and US but pretty much forgotten there.

Just because a film is big in the US/UK, doesn't always mean it's big in other countries or become a classic, particularly non-English speaking countries.

Yes she’s back to Warner. But I don’t know what to expect because Warner changed ownership so this Warner is not the same she was at through her career

Warner Bros was sold. The movie division was separated from the music division. Hence they changed the brand from Warner Bros Records to Warner Music. It’s a completely different company now.

Given the way her chart career has floundered for the past twelve years but both Kylie and Elton have managed to chart with fun pop songs, I'm hoping we'll get a return to some good dance pop, like an updated confessions. Really don't need anymore of the trend chasing of the past few years and please no more rent-a-rappers.

The old guard must be out by now. Info contradicting this might be out there, but it's possible not a soul remains at the label from when she left 15+ years ago.

The terms of her current contract intrigue me. She doesn't owe anyone new music, but there's distribution infrastructure available should she be inspired? Or not. Maybe it can't be so simple.
