Jozsef Szajer, a Hungarian MEP for Viktor Orban's right-wing Fidesz party has resigned after he was caught breaking lockdown to attend a 'mostly male' orgy with 25 others in Brussels.

According to a press release from the public prosecutor's office: 'A passer-by reported to the police that he had seen a man fleeing along the gutter; he was able to identify the man. 

'The man's hands were bloody. It is possible that he may have been injured while fleeing. Narcotics were found in his backpack. The man was unable to produce any identity documents. He was escorted to his place of residence, where he identified himself as S. J. (1961) by means of a diplomatic passport.'  

Ecstasy pills were also found in a backpack belonging to Szajer, prosecutors said, but he denied taking them, added that he has no idea where they came from. 

Szajer then resigned suddenly on Sunday, two days after the party, and initially gave no explanation - saying only that he was under 'mental strain'. But on Tuesday, as news of the orgy began to circulate in the Belgian press, he admitted being at the party and offered a full apology.

'A newspaper ran in the Belgian press today a story about a house party in Brussels on Friday that I was attending,' he said in a statement issued to the Hungarian press.

All I know is my male friends are straight  - and there's no reason for them to be bothered by who I decide to date. Why would there be?  It makes complete sense that only men who need to exert their "straightness" or hurt people who aren't, to always end up being a repressed gay person. Time and time and again. the story is consistently the same not just with homophobes, but, any bully (who they hate is a reflection of who they are)

but....actually now that I think of it, it could also be a sociopathic power trip thing, that has nothing to do with self hate. just about control and power. the whole "yay for me, not for thee" type of thing.

David Manzheley, who organised the sex party in Brussels with 25 attendees where Hungarian MEP Jozsef Szajer was also present, does not see the problem as all guests had already had coronavirus.

Manzheley (29) regularly organises sex parties in his apartment, he told Het Laatste Nieuws, but he was not aware that one of his guests was an MEP, he added. “He is a friend of a friend. At my parties, I always invite a few friends, who in turn bring a few friends, and then we have fun together.”

While Manzheley said that he realises the gathering was illegal in view of the coronavirus restrictions in force in Belgium, he also said that he and his guests had been very careful.

“All my guests must have already had Covid-19, and must not have any symptoms,” he said. “I trust that my friends would not lie about it.”

“To be honest, I do not see what the problem is. There were two nurses present as well, they did not think it was dangerous either,” Manzheley said.

“We talk a little, we drink a little – like in a café. The only difference is that in the meantime we also have sex. I do not see what is wrong with it. We are all adults, everything happens with mutual consent,” he added.

When the police arrived, over 20 people were in the apartment. Everyone’s identity was checked, according to a statement by the Brussels public prosecutor’s office.

“The police were saying ‘ID card, right now!’ but we were not even wearing underpants. How were we supposed to show our identity card?” Manzheley said.

Two people, identified only as “D. O. (1977) and P. B. (1987)” by the public prosecutor, invoked diplomatic immunity.  

Additionally, the Hungarian MEP, Jozsef Szajer, issued a statement on Tuesday in which he admitted that he was present at what he calls “a private party,” and apologised for breaking the rules.

All attendees were issued a €250 fine.

Think so many people who become politicians do it for power no matter how they deny it. Power tripping can feel like a high for narcissistic people. Look at how many liberal democratic politicians in the US did not advocate for gay marriage laws until it was absolutely safe for them to do so. LGBT people will always be an easy target for politicians to exploit or use to distract from bigger problems.

Just one thing. Is the use of 'homo' like this not considered offensive in Flemish? If it said a party of homos in English in the press, you'd be cancelled straightaway.
