Why has it leaked?????

Oh dear, I wanted this era without leaks, I want every song to be available when Madonna wanted to.

It's not a leak, it was released in New Zealand where it's already Friday there. They're like 10 hours ahead of you (and 15 ahead of New York!).

It has not leaked. It's available in NZ because it's past midnight. Technically, it's not a leak.

It’s amazing. Love that little guitar during the verses. Very happy!! The only it feels a little short because of how good it is!! The ending is epic!

I haven't listened to it yet but could the guitar be a sample from Still I Rise by 2pac? That would be sweet.

The song is coming out in every timezone at 12 o'clock midnight tonight! The first country being New Zealand!!! It'll be officially out all over the world within the next 23 hours!

It reminds me of Queen!

It does have the same peaceful vibe.

I love it. This makes me really excited for the album. The lyrics are great, the melody is powerful and it sounds fresh! I know what you guys mean when you say  the song doesn't represent sonically what we have been reading about the Portugese-influenced album with Mirwais touches.. I mean honestly this wouldn't feel out of place on Rebel Heart? But I think we are going to get that ''world music + Mirwais''  feeling when we listen to the whole album. And honestly at the end of the day the more important thing is that  the song is great.

Full lyrics:

Speech opening:

“… us kids don’t know what we’re talking about
That we’re too youngnto understand how the government works
We call!
We act!”

I’m going through it
Yeah, I know you see the tragic in it
Just hold on to the little bit of magic in it
I can't break down now
I can't take that now

Died a thousand times
Managed to survive
I can’t break down now
I can’t take that, I can’t take that

I Rise
I Rise
I Rise
Up above it
Up above it
I Rise
I Rise
I Rise
Up above it all

There's nothing you can do to me that hasn't been done
Not pull or push it,
Not to run from a gun
River of tears ran dry, let 'm run
No game that you can play with me, I ain't one

Cause I'm going through it
Yeah, I know you see the tragic in it
Just hold on to the little bit of magic in it
I can't break down now
I can't take that now

Died a thousand times
But managed to survive, I managed to survive
I can’t break down now
I can’t take that, I can’t take it

I Rise
I Rise
I Rise
Up above it
Up above it
I Rise
I Rise
I Rise
Up above it all

The minute you survive

Freedom’s what you choose to do with what’s been done to you
No one can hurt you now, Unless you want them to
No one can hurt you now, Unless you love ‘m too
Unless you love ‘m too

Cause I'm going through it
Yeah, I know you see the tragic in it
Just hold on to the little bit of magic in it
I can't break down now
I can't take that now

Died a thousand times
But managed to survive, I managed to survive
I can’t break down now
I can’t take that, I can’t take that

I Rise
I Rise
I Rise
Up above it
Up above it
I Rise
I Rise (get up)
I Rise
Up above it all

Now we’re gonna rise up
Yeah we’re gonna rise up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yes we can, we can get it together
We’ll rise up, we can get it together
Now we’re gonna rise up
Yeah we’re gonna rise up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yeah we’re gonna get up
Yes we can, we can get it together
We’ll rise up, we can get it together

Thank you for writing it up!!! It’s beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

What would you guys compare it to, from her body of work? How would you rank it too?

Thanks Robster for all your info and taking the time to write out the lyrics

Similiar to Queen and maybe Joan of Arc (but the melody is very different) it's a calm repetitive song it's very good.

This album so far sounds infinitely better than rebel heart. It’ll sound great lossless.

But RH had amazing songs. DEVIL PRAY (among her best songs in any period and the best since Jump), Hold Tight, Joan Of Arc, Heartbreak City, WAOM, RH are absolutely brilliant.

It wouldn't sound out of place on Rebel Heart. I would compare it to Ghosttown and Queen but it also has a really intense vocodered last minute which reminds of the climatic endings of her work with Mirwais on American Life sessions ( think ''another day, another day'' on Die Another Day or Mother and Father)..

Oh, I’m not talking about songwriting, but how good it sounds. The production has no distortion, it sounds great and her voice, even tho auto tuned - for artistic choices - sounds great - crystal clear.
