This is the thread to APPRECIATE the woman that we, the American people voted to be our Commander In Chief in this 2016 election, A woman that has dedicated her entire life to public service. A woman who is in this not for a stroke of the ego, but because she wants to make a difference, The People's President,  HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON......

133 Reasons Why Hillary should be our President:

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/reasons-and-counting-hillary-clinton-should-be-our-next-president/

I say she's the Madonna of politics because much like our dear M, there are so many lies spread about both of these women that over the years the lies have become "truths". For Madonna, as has been recently brought to the forefront again, the big one is "she doesn't write/create her own music".....we all know that's bullshit. What about Hillary though?

The man is insane spazz!! lol I'm sorry but I've never had a "leader" like this in my lifetime so it's very traumatic!! lol

It's supposed to be the land of the free but that's not always the case in some ways. Look at the Japanese internment camps in WW2. These were US Citizens in a lot of cases!! Who's to say something like this to perhaps a lesser or maybe even greater degree couldn't happen again under the wrong leader?? It SEEMS archaic in 2016 but is it REALLY??

I have a great  deal of respect and admiration for Hillary.  She's worked very hard to be where she is and her long fight for children's rights should be admired.

I would feel much more at ease with her as President than the orange anus who everyday becomes scarier and scarier and he hasn't even been inaugurated yet.

I think her life in politics is over but i'm sure she'll continue her activism work.

THE "GENTLEMAN" AT AROUND 40 SECONDS SPEAKS FOR MANY "I FEEL SHE'S A VERY AGGRESSIVE WOMAN AND OVERLY AMBITIOUS". Let's be honest, hasn't that always been a big part of the problem when it comes to Hillary?

Some things never change.

Yes, sadly that is the attitude that some people have always had with women.  They think ambition is something that women should not have.

This 100%. An ambitious and unscrupulous man is widely accepted and celebrated but God forbid a woman to have ambitions. Sexism at its highest levels...

^^^YES! That is one of the few things that keeps me somewhat optimistic that MAYBE the country hasn't completely lost it's mind after all. At the end of the day, the majority of Americans did not choose the president we're about to get.

Although we can sleep easily at night knowing the achievements of the president that was forced on us include such honorable things as reality TV shows, Ms. America pageants, casinos and ummm....."universities". It's hard to believe the man still has time to rip off workers, evade taxes and grab pussies! Here's what we missed by the skin of our teeth....phew!............

Over her decades-long career in public service, Hillary Clinton has taken on her share of tough fights. Here are just a few of the biggest things she’s accomplished—and she’s not done yet.

1. Fought for children and families for 40 years and counting.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

After law school, Hillary could have gone to work for a prestigious law firm, but took a job at the Children’s Defense Fund. She worked with teenagers incarcerated in adult prisons in South Carolina and families with disabled children in Massachusetts. It sparked a lifelong passion for helping children live up to their potential.

2. Helped provide millions of children with health care.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

As first lady of the United States, Hillary fought to help pass health care reform. When that effort failed, she didn’t give up: Hillary worked with Republicans and Democrats to help create the Children’s Health Insurance Program. CHIP cut the uninsured rate of American children by half, and today it provides health care to more than 8 million kids.

3. Helped get 9/11 first responders the health care they needed.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

When terrorists attacked just months after Hillary became U.S. senator from New York, she worked to make sure the 9/11 first responders who suffered lasting health effects from their time at Ground Zero got the care they needed.

4. Told the world that “women’s rights are human rights.”

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

Standing in front of a U.N. conference and declaring that “women’s rights are human rights” was more controversial than it sounds today. Many within the U.S. government didn’t want Hillary to go to Beijing. Others wanted her to pick a less polarizing topic (you say polarizing, we say half the population). But Hillary was determined to speak out about human rights abuses, and her message became a rallying cry for a generation.

5. Stood up for LGBT rights at home and abroad.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

As secretary of state, Hillary made LGBT rights a focus of U.S. foreign policy. She lobbied for the first-ever U.N. Human Rights Council resolution on human rights and declared that “gay rights are human rights.” And here at home, she made the State Department a better, fairer place for LGBT employees to work.

6. Helped expand health care and family leave for military families.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

Hillary worked across the aisle to expand health care access for members of the National Guard and reservists—making sure those who served and their families had access to health care when they returned home. And she worked to expand the Family Medical Leave Act, allowing families of those wounded in service to their country to take leave in order to care for their loved ones.

7. Negotiated a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

As our nation’s chief diplomat, Hillary didn’t back down when the stakes were high. As Hamas rockets rained down on Israel, Hillary went to the region immediately. Twenty-four hours after she landed, a ceasefire went into effect—and that year became Israel’s quietest in a decade.

8. Negotiated the toughest sanctions Iran has ever faced.

iran.png

As Iran was working to develop nuclear weapon, Hillary was instrumental in persuading Russia, China, and nine other U.N. Security Council countries to impose the toughest sanctions in Iran’s history. Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta called it “a remarkable effort—and it paid off.”

9. Became the first woman in history to top a major-party presidential ticket.

nomination.png

After winning the Democratic nomination for president earlier this year, Hillary became the first woman in history to be a major party’s nominee. It was one of many firsts during the presidential primary—starting with being the first woman to win the Iowa caucus.

A remarkable woman,a talented politician. I truly thought and hoped that she would become the next US president. I admire her tenacity, her ambition, her keen intellect. Americans will come to wish that she had gotten the keys to the white house. They will look back and say "What the fuck have we done?.

The saddest part of all is that we DIDN'T actually ask for what we got! :( Trump has been forced on us by "the powers that be" even though Hillary won the vote. It's really fucked up actually.

Oh Hillary.

I've come a LONG way with her. While I didn't support her in 2008 OR this year, I came around from being a 'yeah, I guess I'm with her' to 'I'm totally with her'

She's a tough, incredibly intelligent, tenacious, woman of EPIC proportions. The fact that this country chose Trump over someone so overqualified is beyond comprehension. Like, it's insulting to the foundation of this nation. And I think it says a whole HELL of a lot as to where we are as a country.

I've called her the Madonna of politics since at least 2008. I'm not going to go on as to the reasons why I believe this, but it has to do with the simple fact that BOTH of them have had to plow forward in the midst of rampant misogyny and sexism in a field, at the time they began their careers, that was DOMINATED by piggish men.

BOTH are accused of not being 'warm' or 'feminine'. They don't SMILE enough. They're rigid. They're critiqued on their hair, looks, clothing, VOICES and not their merits and accomplishments. Well, if I had to go through what they went through for nearly 30 plus years, I'd be just as fucking cunty as they are about the press and media.

Hillary will be appreciated and respected and MISSED in less than a year. Her approval ratings will go through the damn roof and America will have to deal with the fact they chose this pile of garbage we elected. MARK my words

I'm starting to notice that both Democrats and Republicans are identical. It's starting to sound to me that you guys WANT the U.S. to go down the drain just so you can say 1. I TOLD YOU SO and 2. VOTE FOR OUR GUYS!

It was a Madonna reference / joke :chuckle: sorry.

Seriously though. sexism is alive and well, but until everyone starts defending Melania and that one woman who can see Russia from her house for all the nasty shit they get / got simple based on their looks, I'm not buying it.

If we're going to defend women and demand an end to blatant, unfair sexism and double standards, then it should apply to everyone.

Just as one example, I remember Margaret Cho making fun of Bush's wife (forget her name) while he was in office. She said shit like "she looks so frigid her vagina probably smells like bleach" and everyone all those gays and lefties were DYING of laughter
