I have to question Billbored's methodology for the greatest 200 albums of all time when Daughtry appears at 27, Mooriah has 3 albums in the top 100, Mumbles Jackson has 3 albums in the top 120 and Madonna's first entry is at 179

As noted in the charts forum- the Billboard 200, firstly, wasn't always 200 positions (that happened in 1967). Secondly, it's had numerous names through the years (BB 200 name started in 1992). Thirdly, and most importantly- catalog albums were not eligible for the chart from 1991-2009, so a lot of albums enjoyed great success in the catalog top 50 during those years.

Albums have had much more notable success in the catalog life than singles have as recurrents, when competing against current hit titles.

Yea I feel like billboard screwed Madonna over in every possible way that wouldn't include flat out changing of numbers. I mean there's no way they can fudge her top 10s.

The list that has True Blue at 179 has The Fame at number 12. Like in what world was The Fame more scucessful than True Blue? Utterly manipulated. I'm sure when gagas team paid for nice words for Gaga they also included a bonus for denigrating Madonna.

The rankings are based on week-to-week performance on the chart. There are oddities, especially on the albums list, but you'll have that. And it's just the U.S. charts.

On a side note- TB didn't sell 25m copies in 1986- plus, isn't its worldwide total to date 20m or so?
