Apples388 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 For some reason I remember this one at the time not getting a very enthusiastic response. In retrospect, I think it is a lovely image that works perfectly for the album. The pose, the dress, the hair and font etc. - All rather, er, lovely. Yes, there were some other mega-iconic beauteous pictures from that session but I think this particular image served its purpose very well for the cover and I am typing this as I gaze lovingly at last year's vinyl reissue.
Mattress Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I like that it conveys both strength and vulnerability. Both 1995 Versace campaigns were stunning. Here's some great video footage from the second photo shoot: Love the moment @ 1:00.
Flip The Switch Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Everytime I play this album always stare at the album cover
madonnasuperfan01 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Amazing album cover, perfect for a ballad compilation And i still think her cover of I Want You is better than the original.
BrokenButterfly Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I like the original version with the maxi CD style casing over the re-release with the paper insert that came later. It set STR apart from other compilation releases.
luluthecat Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 The cover is absolutely perfect!! One of my favorite M covers ever!
Jazzy Jan Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I have always loved the album cover and think Madonna looks beautiful and it shows of the dress perfectly. Although, she also looks like she is having a de-stress moment - looking down and sad while leaning against a wall.
runa Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I have always loved the album cover and think Madonna looks beautiful and it shows of the dress perfectly. Although, she also looks like she is having a de-stress moment - looking down and sad while leaning against a wall. This is what I think too. She looks kinda sad. Very beautiful. And I love the fact it's white. There's something really pure in this picture. And madonnasuperfan I agree with you: her version is better than the original.
ryan Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 It's not my favorite. I think what I dislike is the placement of the text.
qans1990 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 She looks really pretty, and the white dress is great.
spazz Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 always one of my fav too sad this one isnt available in HQ
Plasticlimbo Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Beautiful cover and the back too! Love the feminine and delicate portray of her, and the flowers! Should contain Spanish Eyes...
horn Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I love Mario Testino's STR work. Both cover and back sleeve (the one featuring M lying down on bed) are gorgeous! I'm glad STR LP was released. And I heard STR was to "soften" her image for Evita role.

Mattress Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 always one of my fav too sad this one isnt available in HQ That's her head from a scene in the above video pasted onto the album cover.
Guest Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 beautiful.... and at looking donatella versace with a more or less "natural" face... I like that it conveys both strength and vulnerability. Both 1995 Versace campaigns were stunning. Here's some great video footage from the second photo shoot: Love the moment @ 1:00.
spazz Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That's her head from a scene in the above video pasted onto the album cover. are you sure? Ive found this pic years ago from a trustful site called queenmadonna.com
Guest Ivy Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Beautiful and appropriate cover for a lovely compilation. My only complaint ( as there always has to be) is the nose piercing. Have photoshopped it out of my cover- looks much better and like whoopie said inappropriate font placement- should have been bottom left and not over her arm. Despite this, a kick ass compilation with one of her very best film clips-I want you!
karbatal Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I love it, it's such a great session. A the time i was so surprised, i found it so classy and dreamy and warm
cosmic_system Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Unretouched photo BTW, the vinyl wasn't released just last year. It was released back in the 90s too.
karbatal Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 There's an original vinyl on sale on ebay, like 150 dollars! Some people are crazy.
Mattress Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 That's her head from a scene in the above video pasted onto the album cover. Yeah, positive. It's a really bad fake.
britbabiie18 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I love the album cover. she looks gorgeous and very classy. perfect cover for a ballad album
nick00 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Agree M looks great. Did not realize some fans did not like it.
