MusixExpress: 700 Best Songs of All Time

Yes, another big list, this time from a German publication. Thus far, I've seen positions 1-150, and 49 other positions (673-700, and 589-609 accessible in an online preview)- and Madge doesn't have any songs in those ranges.

Will she have any, amidst the 501 slots that remain unknown?

nothing on the 1-150? well, it's ok, it's not like she's made some kind of Like a prayer or Vogue or Into the Groove or Borderline or Express yourself or............

I bet it's another joke list with the same typical male singers and the same typical songs. The fact that she doesn't have a song in the 1-150 category is a joke in itself. Like a Prayer alone should have been there.

Nothing in the 151-200 section- so that leaves 451 positions left. :)

There are female tracks in the top 200- but, of course, males dominate big time.

What a surprise...

Not. A. Single. Madonna. Entry.

Pretty shocking, that there's not even just one. But, not sure how, overall, how she has fared on past Musikexpress lists.

Nina Simone has the most for a solo female (7), followed by Kate Bush (4) and Aretha Franklin (3). Of course, the Beatles have 24, Dylan has 16, Bowie and the Stones have 13 each, Prince and the Velvet Underground have 10 each, etc.

Of course not, Matt- plus, it's just one list.

And, Madge isn't alone in the diss of acclaimed female acts- also no entries for Björk. And just one for PJ Harvey.

Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue's "Slow" appears. :)

The list does have a good selection of tracks on the whole, though- but some omissions are rather outrageous.

You're joking, right?

What position were Ray of Light, Frozen, Live to Tell, Like A Prayer, Music, Don't Tell Me etc.?
