geez, i thought $296M was already final?

just checked wiki... so it now stands at $285M with 4 more shows unannounced...

$300M seems like a done deal... why was the $296M figure much publicized again?

sorry if it's the wrong topic.. didnt know if it was worthy of a new one since it's pure speculation about Madonna booking the same stadium in bulgaria again:

-----------------

There's gossip that she already booked Vasil Levski's stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria where she performed in 2009!

Vasil Levski's attendance was HUGE! And some of the most successful shows were actually there!

American superstar Madonna had a very successful concert here as part of the second European second leg of her Sticky & Sweet Tour on August 29, 2009. She performed in front of 54,000 people [5] and was warmly welcomed by her numerous fans. After the show, the grass was badly damaged, which caused some discontent amongst football fans, national team players, coaches and staff.

On 14 May 2010, Australian rock band AC/DC played the Bulgarian capital Sofia, in front of nearly 60,000 fans as part of their Black Ice World Tour.

A festival, under the name Sofia Rocks, part of Sonisphere Festival took place on the Vasil Levski National Stadium. The festival was held over 2 days on the 22nd and 23 June with live performances by world renowned bands such as Rammstein, Metallica, Manowar and Alice in chains among others.

The Big Four, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, performed all together during the Sonisphere Festival. The event was broadcast live around the world.

In October 30, the american rock band Bon Jovi announced that they will perform live in Levski during their Because We Can tour in May 14, 2013

Lady Gaga was due to perform at the stadium on August 14, 2012 as part of The Born This Way Ball but it was moved to Armeets Arena Due to incredibly low ticket sales.

The $296 M was reported by Pollstar back in December before Live Nation reported the SA dates boxscore. That's why billboard is more reliable.

Sold-Out is a very loose term nowadays, Gaga can get away with saying she had a sold-out leg in South America (Porto Alegre was less than 10,000 LOL) Madonna herself did not sell out the entire tour but it will be reported as such (but based on pictures and reviews we can say they were near sold-out)

I'm sure we'll get the final number on Wednesday.

What's more interesting is the "Top Paid Celebrities" lists that will come out over 2013. Usually Forbes, Bloomberg and others report such stuff. Madonna will definitely be the top paid music entertainter for the year.

With 300 million is MDNA the 2nd most successful tour by a solo artist or "just" female artist?

2nd most successfull by a female

Unless she adds a second 2013 run for MDNA, Roger Waters' The Wall is already at $377m which immediately qualifies it as second highest-grossing solo as things stand now. Not only that but with 25 more shows due in 2013 The Wall could very well overtake Madonna's S&S solo record. The outstanding point here is simply this: if Waters succeeds he'll have done so by playing 220 shows in over 3 years time with 6 legs while Madonna got to that record $410m figure with a mere (in comparison) 85 shows over the course of 6 months. Madonna is 54 compared to these dinosaurs and she's very famed for her healthy regime and her determination, she has ample time to outdo all of them within the next 10 min of the game anyway (and put all the younger acts to shame too at the same time, having done that already several times over the last few years)

Thanks! So even if Rogers Waters will surpass her, he's going to do it with 220 shows over 3 years, against 85 shows and 6 months from Madonna! Imagine if she did 220 shows!!!!

I imagine the tour has already topped all year-end lists so essential the good press has been had. These last few dates are just icing on the cake, and so they probably don't care as much.

Well it's Madonna so this week, last week or next week we're getting those last 4 MDNA gigs anyway :dramatic:

We know she's a perfectionist and that MDNA Billboard Boxscore figure is not final yet
