eroticromance Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 at The Immaculate Collection re entering the chart at # 72 Strange that Coadf is not there too. On itunes it was always in the top100, while TIC was not. Maybe physical sales are still bigger for albums
Brisy_Boy Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 So next week HARD CANDY is #01 on the album charts... and hopefully "4 MINUTES" will make it a 3rd week at #01 !!!
Kyoko Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I don't follow the UK charts too closely but 2 weeks at #1 is rare over there, right? Is Leona's album almost done over there? How much has she sold? Bleeding Love must have tremendous sales, too.
Guest boytoyville Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Thanks Sniper for the Uk airplay stats. I'm assuming we don't know the states prior to Justify My Love? Anyways It does seem like 4 minutes could be doing a little better in the UK in terms of airplay. She did have MONSTER airplay success with all the Confessions singles but I'd imagine the sound of this record isn't as appealing to UK radio listeners as the euro leaning confessions was. I wonder if their is a chance for it to move up anymore in airplay given that it has dropped for number 3-4 already. Hmm...
danny1999 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I want a third week at #1! Me, too^^ Maybe four weeks at NO 1 :vanitybonet:
Guest kangarooz Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I don't follow the UK charts too closely but 2 weeks at #1 is rare over there, right? Is Leona's album almost done over there? How much has she sold? Bleeding Love must have tremendous sales, too. 2 weeks is not rare lol and Leona's album isn't over yet. and 'Spirt' is about 1.85 million, with 'Bleeding love' about 840k approx.
Guest kangarooz Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 No Hard Candy in I-tunes top 100, must be a problem there,
Guest kangarooz Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 CHART COMMENTARY from JAMES MASTERTON ''Nothing new to report at the top of the single chart this week. Madonna and Justin Timberlake go physical with '4 Minutes' and so remain locked at Number One for a second week. Two weeks at the top is something of a new experience for pubehead whose previous chart-topping singles 'Sexyback' and 'Give It To Me' could only manage a solitary seven days at the summit. Madonna will I'm sure have half an eye on the trend this year for long-running Number One hits. In her long career her biggest run to date has been four weeks, a total achieved by 'Into The Groove' in 1985 and 'Vogue' in 1990. Activities below however suggest she may have something of a fight on her hands to get beyond three this time around.''
Guest boytoyville Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Is there any competition for Madge this week to keep 4 minutes out of pull position during album release week?
Guest Hafo Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Yup. Wiley and Usher. Although 4 Minutes lead is ample: Sales this week Singles 49771 Madonna 31078 Sam Sparro 26092 Estelle 25220 Wiley (4) 11018 Scouting For Girls (10) 8217 Pendulum (16) 8026 Adele (18) 3888 Robyn (38) 3119 Lil Wayne (46) 2799 Feeling (53) Albums 51186 Last Shadow Puppets 28818 Kooks 28084 Leona Lewis 13613 Whitesnake (7) 8714 Chris De Burgh (12) 5437 Hoosiers (24) Some info tidbits on Madonna at the top, from Music Week: Half of Madonna’s 12 previous number one singles spent a single week at number one but 4 Minutes has no intention of surrendering its title yet, and on its second week at the chart summit it moves further ahead of the chasing pack, securing sales of 49,771 copies following its release on CD. Madonna’s one week wonders: True Blue, Who’s That Girl, Frozen, American Pie, Music and Sorry. Those that stuck around longer: Into The Groove, Papa Don’t Preach, La Isla Bonita, Like A Prayer, Vogue and Hung Up. All told, Madonna has spent 27 weeks at number one, the same as Take That. The only acts with more weeks at number one are Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Frankie Laine and Abba.
DIRTY PIG Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 wiley should get it (i know him ) and usher and his fat fucking piglet nose can FUCK OFF im gald that self obsessed cunts career is now DEAD.
aeroco Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Just under 50k is good as it means her sales picked up again on Friday and Saturday. A third week at the top is possible if she maintains 5-6k a day this week.
thebigham Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Music Week wrote: As Glasgow band The Fratellis gear up for the release of their second album Here We Stand next month, their 2006 debut Costello Music has passed the 1m sales mark. The album, which peaked at number two, has become the 134th album to sell a seven-figure quantity in the 21st century. Next to join the list will be Madonna’s 1990 compilation The Immaculate Collection, which should reach the target next week. The Immaculate Collection has sold more than 3.6m copies in total.

A third week at the top is possible if she maintains 5-6k a day this week. yeah, it would be great if it can hold on to number 1 for this week... and when MADONNA sets foot next week in EUROPE, it will boost again sales... (4th week at #1) pic discs in UK is released this week or May 5?
Kyoko Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 2 weeks is not rare lol and Leona's album isn't over yet. and 'Spirt' is about 1.85 million, with 'Bleeding love' about 840k approx. Thanks. I guess it's just Madge who has all those single-week #1's. LOL I thought Leona sold more than that given all the hype.
