Downloads are making things weirdier.

I expected Kylie to plummet to number 13 at least!

I am loving Alicia Keys song more and more each day.

And a big OH, that Hey There Dalilah has charted in UK, i didn't know! I love that song.

Leona rules root is music charts

LONDON (Reuters) - "X Factor" winner Leona Lewis completed a remarkable double as she topped both the single and album charts for the second week running, the Official UK Charts Company said on Sunday.

It is the latest success for the 22-year-old singer, from Hackney in east London, who triumphed in last year's "X Factor" television talent show, with her single "Bleeding Love" and album "Spirit" holding off all challengers in both charts.

As "Bleeding Love" took top spot in the singles chart for a fifth week running, T2's dance track "Heartbroken" featuring Jodie Aysha made a strong showing, climbing 12 places to number two.

Take That's "Rule the World" dropped one place to three in a top 10 with just two new entries -- "Breathless" by another former "X Factor" winner Shayne Ward coming in at six, with "Call the Shots" by Girls Aloud entering at nine.

Take That and Girls Aloud also made their presence felt in the album charts, with the reformed boy band climbing one place to two with "Back Home", while the all-female band's "Tangled Up" was a new entry at four.

Welsh opera diva Katherine Jenkins was just above Girls Aloud at number three with "Rejoice" -- the only other new album entry in the top 10 -- while the Spice Girls' "Greatest Hits" album slipped from two to seven.

That IS a very disappointing showing for Spice Girls, esp. when considering all of their previous releases peaked at No. 1 or 2.

yes, it´s disappointing, really disappointing, but they deserve it, because the song it´s not good enough to be a return single (unlike Kylie´s 2 hearts, which is more than good)

This is a devastating result for the Spice Girls and for the Children In Need foundation. I'm one of the few who actually thinks the song is great (much better than Kylie's "2 Hearts"). I really am stunned that it didn't at least reach the Top 5.

Good to see Spice Girls flopping. That was enough good news for me.

Surprised at Alicia's position. I was expecting the album to be at least in TOP 10.

And good to see Amy holding on the top 15. I'm sure she will be back to the top 10 soon though.

"Headlines" shits all over "2 Hearts". It has a decent melody and isn't pretentious.

:rotfl: @ the Spice Girls.

I can't wait to read their fans reaction on denden - they were claiming a few weeks back the Geri and Male C would reclaim their authority over Madonna as the females who had written and sung the most number 1 singles. :lmao:

Good to see the album underperforming as well.

What's with all the Spice-hate?!?! I don't get it! We should be reserving our venom for the likes of Westlife! At least the Spice Girls are proper pop stars!

At least they can say one thing...they've MADE THE HEADLINES again. :lmao:

SINGLES

57954 Leona Lewis

ALBUMS

196997 Leona Lewis

From Music Week:

Bleeding Love is now the longest-running number one by a British female solo artist since 1968, when Welsh singer Mary Hopkin had the temerity to dethrone Hey Jude by her label bosses, The Beatles, and spent six weeks at the summit with debut hit Those Were The Days.

Lewis is the first artist for more than a decade to have consecutive number ones spend four or more weeks at the top. The last act to do it was Robson & Jerome with Unchained Melody (7) and I Believe (5) in 1995. Lewis’ only previous single, A Moment Like This, spent four weeks at number one.

And Lewis is the ninth female solo artist to simultaneous top the singles and albums charts - following Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce Knowles, Madonna (who did in three times) and Rihanna – but the first Brit.

What's that fever that some people are having with Leona? The ballad isn't original at all, is a generic ballad, pretty enough to be in a Julia Roberts movie.

And Riverwide, please... Stop defending Headlines right now!!!!!!!

So that's not even 100k in two weeks. Not quite the essential pop GH package a la TIC and Abba Gold they were anticipating then. :demonic:

Their fans are claiming it will fly off the shelves in January due to the concernts. :lmao:

I wonder if the concerts are trully soldout? How can the dates be soldout in 5 minutes and later the single and album struggle to make a top 10????
