I think some of the lyrics and vocal melodies on Hard Candy are good, but the beats and music was dated before it was even released. Pharrells production sounds so cheap and out of tune to my ears anyways.
This is spot on. "Hard Candy" is criminally overlooked by fans for some great melodies and lyrics because Timbaland and Pharrell were so passe by 2008.
"Devil" and "Voices" and others had the makings of great tracks -- but it seems like Timba and Pharrell just phoned in all the same shit they'd been doing with Gwen Stefani and Nelly Furtado since 2003.

Either "Erotica" or "Confessions," for sure.
"Confessions" is probably her most intentionally gay album. After "American Life," she needed to make her base happy. Same thing a politician or big business does when he / she gets in trouble -- throw some red meat to your core supporters.

Momentarily blacked out when it seemed like "Deeper and Deeper" had been dropped from the set list
for me, and thats just my personal opinion, they're disney/pop girl versions of the darker, deeper & more intelligent madonna in erotica.
I don't hate them, but I don't love them for exactly this reason.

It's funny cause the other day a friend who is not a fan, came home and candy shop was playing and to my surpise he sang the sugar is raw bit like he knew the song pretty well, i asked and he told me he knows the song thanks to 2 S&S shows and one mdna show...
Then it hit me that in my country she performed candy shop to 260,000 ppl in 2008 and 150,000 in 2012...
Being the opening song probably helped too...so i guess here CS is sort of a hit lol
Erm ... What sort of "not fan" goes to three shows in four years? These things aren't cheap.
