Shocker that you'd read that post wrong.
-
The NY info probably won't be released until after she doess the 2 remaining shows. So, not too much to report on until then. We may see the NY, Philly and Boston info reported together, at the least.
CT was before NY, and that already was reported.
-
As expected- I mean, come now- who in their right mind thought this would be faring decently? Some were amazed that it cracked the top 40!
-
Down 107-151 in its 3rd week, with sales dropping 41% to 5,437 units. Cume stands at 40,000 and change.

Haven't we determined that the DVD-CD version wasn't released in the USA? A Billboard staffer said the release only had one UPC code, so that's the only one, apparently.

I think BStrgr is referring to box-office stats in his post.
There is no reason for anyone to get catty- like said, the final grosses will show whether a show is sold out or not. People also have to realize that most acts do NOT sell out all of their dates in a given year. I was checking the year-end lists for 2002, 2003, etc. and most didn't even come close to having all of their shows reported as sell-outs. So, on that front, Madge does VERY well- just 1 ofthe 56 shows for Re-Invention wasn't reported as a sellout (Ireland).
I wonder if the NY grosses won't be reported for another several weeks- I imagine they'll want all of the dates reported simultaneously, for maximum impact.
-
People may talk all they like- when the final figures are released, that's what is- end of story, bottom line, etc.- just like it is with ALL acts and concert grosses.

7/15 Eurocharts
* Albums: COADF holds at No. 50, 33rd week
* Singles: GT moves 26-19, 3rd week
Both COADF and GT are charting in 13 territories (out of 18 used to compile the Eurochart).
-
It's a live CD, that only has 5 classic tracks out of 14 tracks. Not much potential there. Not to mention the fact that the movie didn't get any of the fanfare and hoopla enjoyed by TOD.
-
Billboard has the 7/8 Eurochart Singles up:
GT jumped 84-26 in its 2nd week.
-
Perez seems to have forgotten "Into the Groove" from the last tour, and her promo performances of "Everybody." But, I certainly can sympathize with the "Borderline" desire.
RE Village Voice- LTT "canned-sounding"? Open your ears, MAN!
-
I'm surprised it's charting on the Music Video chart, since the DVD is mostly a non-music-performance release.
-
Completely expected- why I mentioned Billy Joel's plummet on last week's chart, with nearly the same percentage drop.
-
As always- and it will continue to be as such until infinity!
-
Of course the practice is the same for ALL acts whose numbers are reported to Billboard/AB.
-
LTT, from her latst album? Are some of these writers coherent when they're at the keyboard? Nice reviews, though. Keep up the good work, Sly.
-
Why phrase it that they didn't "fare as well"? They sold out, how much better can they do?!? Of course the grosses are going to be lower in smaller areas, and/or when she does less shows at a venue!
-
Still no word of this week's Eurochart singles- the 7/8 albums chart shows up in an archive search (but the 7/1 chart still shows on the main page); but the 7/8 singles chart doesn't show up in any archive search. Hmmm...
-
Even more, if you look at audience.

Just looked in 2005's year-end Billboard- it says how the RS tour producer Michael Cohl chooses to report numbers at the conclusion of a tour- so that would affect the 2006 charts. If that's the case, RS easily will have the biggest numbers (around $350m)- though it really shouldn't take into account 2005 grosses.
U2's tour grossed $260.12 million in 2005, and another $70m or so this year (hence, the $330m gross overall).
-
Rolling Stones are continuing with the Bigger Bang Tour- I wonder if it may challenge M for top tour of the year? It may be on trek for top tour of all time (it would need to best the $330 million that U2 grossed). I'm not sure off-hand what it grossed last year and such.
-
Just realized that the 7/8 Eurocharts weren't posted; Billboard.com still has the 7/1 charts up as the current ones.

If I recall, the re-Invention NY numbers were around $13 million-$14 million, so, with ticket prices higher this time around, it should top that.
