The award was a gift-wrapped goodie?
-
The Japan grosses should be pretty big (aren't the tickets the most expensive there?)
Even if it didn't reach $192.5m, it's still MIGHTY impressive for a 4-month tour.

Fantastic!

I posted the RS info earlier in this thread. Maybe had you not been snoozin' or making one of your silly posts, you would have caught it.
Hopefully, numbers will be released tomorrow for the UK and Italy.

Yes- for a radio bomb, Sorry's to-date spins total isn't too bad, is it? Granted, I think more stations are monitored by Mediabase now than several years ago (and satellite stations have been added), but, stil, not too bad.
-
Now I'll be able to sleep at night- I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO worried that Madge actually may have been tossed in the slammer!

mtzl, dear, it already was well-known that the Stones would have the year's top-grossing tour, once those stadium dates were announced.

Here's an update on the most-played M tracks in Mediabase history. Naturally, I separate them into 1982-1998 tracks and 1998-present, since new singles' to-date totals aren't meant to be compared to recurrent tracks' airplay.

Pollstar
Prosecutors Miss A Peep At Madonna
Updated 03:55 PDT Sun, Aug 20 2006
The mock crucifixion scene that's led to much fuss and many headlines during Madonna's current tour will come under the scrutiny of German law.
Newswires quoted Johannes Mocken from the Düsseldorf prosecutor's office saying his department would take note of her August 20 sellout in the city's LTU Arena, but wouldn't be sending anyone along to monitor the performance.
Instead, the prosecutors will be relying on such unimpeachable sources as "media reports" to determine if Madge's antics could be considered insulting to religious beliefs.
So far, the list of religious bodies that have objected to her simulated crucifixion - wearing a crown of thorns - includes the Roman Catholic and Russian Orthodox churches, the Muslim World League in Italy and the Roman Jewish community.
Catholic leaders called for a boycott of her sold-out August 6 show at Rome's Olympic Stadium, which is a couple of miles from The Vatican, but 70,000 still turned up and gave the controversial scene a rapturous round of applause.
The other show causing consternation is the final date of the tour at Moscow State University on September 11, which is quickly developing into the highest profile rock or pop event Russian audiences have ever been able to see.
Promoted by Tim Dowdall of Live Nation's Budapest office and Nadia Solovieva's Moscow-based SAV Entertainment, and using such major production companies as the city's JSA Staging, it has already shifted 25,000 tickets for the "Sparrow Hill" site that overlooks the university buildings and Moscow center.
Organisers are looking into the possibility of getting permission to sell more tickets, but Dowdall told Pollstar he's already staggered by the demand.
This is far from the first time Madonna has come up with either a show or video that's caused outcry.
Following a run of U.S. dates that grossed about US$2.5 million a night, Madonna kicked off the European leg of her world tour in the Welsh Cardiff Millennium Stadium July 30, where she reportedly "gyrated on a saddle floating above the stage and sang from a crucifix in a performance involving provocative dance routines."
After Düsseldorf, the super diva was slotted to take her Confessions tour to Hannover, Denmark, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague and Moscow between August 22 and September 11.

It's funny seeing the press pics, cause they could have come from any dang show!
That's kinda why I didn't get into taking too many pics when I went, cause therre are SOOOOOO many out there, it ain't even funny!
-
Well, tonight's the night! The show must be in progress, eh?
-
What caused the Euro gain? We had the 27-24 UK move; up to 30 in Netherlands; 12 in Denmark...
-
IGGTYAS scanned 1,786 units last week, bringing its total to 54,094 units.
I don't know how fruitful it is to keep this thrad going- maybe I'll post the weekly sales after this in the COADF thread.

Going to jail for alleged disrespect? I hope that's a joke!

BU gets played on big stations- so even though it's not up there in spins, it benefits from the audience reach.

Well, she wants US to do the bulk of dancing.
-
FL isn't a fast-fast track like some of the other COADF numbers, so I can see why there wouldn't be as much energy like there was for some of the others. Plus, she wanted the focus on the "forbidden love" aspect, I imagine.
-
Billboard's been very lax in posting the Eurocharts the last few weeks. The 8/12 chart is still on the site as the current chart!
-
The Stones' top ticket was $350, $55 for lowest (per Billboard). For U.S stops, it looks like $450 was the top price!
