Her 14th studio album and 27th Top 75 entry, Madame X aspired to be Madonna’s 13th No.1 but ends up being her sixth No.2, matching the debut/peak of her last studio album, Rebel Heart. Runner-up to Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour, Rebel Heart had first week gsales of 37,245 copies: Madame X makes a 26.90% slower start, with consumption of 27,227 units, the highest for a No.2 album thus far in 2019.

    Vinyl sales
    Madonna’s Madame X (4,628 sales)

Madame X also sold 1,993 on cassette, grabbing a 72.47% share of sales in that format

Madonna making cassette great again. LOL. These are solid sales. Hopefully her second week will be nice thanks to BBC promotion.

I never knew or even slightly suspected she was ever featured on a North American talk show myself, she was a huge star in South America but a virtually unknown in the US

She was great with that quip, it kind of reinforces everything that Madonna Letterman 94 was truly all about .....

And I don't care if Letterman is an institution. Anyway, back to GC, bring it all on Madame X, whether the disco look in the video was inspired by Raffaella or otherwise

Michelle Pfeiffer is clearly the inspiration but for us italians it's impossible not to think about "la Raffa" with that look.:chuckle: And oh yes, sometimes Letterman is a moron and needs to be put in his place.

Making a great point here when guesting on Letterman in 1986, she pointed out that he should compare her to a female and not say she's the Italian Johnny Carson or Ed Sullivan, in fact she adds "I'm just me, no need to compare to anyone period".

Wow I didn't know that Raffaella was a guest on Letterman (I knew about Maurizio Costanzo). I love how she puts him in his place (like Madonna lol). She is truly an icon. She is such a lovely, professional and talented lady. Our tv shows were so good in the 80s..

They're great and another week that would have guaranteed a number 1. RH had similar figures on the first update back in 2015 so I'd say this is a fantastic result for her. We should be proud.

At the end of the day sales really matter, not peaks. It sucks that she won't be number one but through her career there's always some shit blocking her. So, It's not the end of the world.

Their prediction of Madame X :

    75-95k for pure album sales

    80-100k for total consumption

That means only 5k for streams (SEA) and digital sales (TEA)

    That's very LOW.

Im afraid Jonas Brothers will have more streams than Madame X and higher total equivalent album units than Madame X.

We don't want Jonas Brothers hinder Madame X from becoming Madonna's 9th no 1 album on Billboard 200 albums chart, do we?

So please KEEP streaming Madame X everyday until June 20.

Also please stream EACH songs of Madame X individually to make them chart on Hot 100.

    Thanks

Stop trolling and repeat the same things like a broken record. You're becoming annoying. In 2019 these are very solid numbers especially for a veteran act. I don't think Jonas Brothers are a threath for her. Hits daily doubles would have mentioned them as contenders for number one in that case.
