:kiss2:. Funana fans unite. Love this sad sentimental bitter sweet song.

Funana has been one of my favorites since the first time I heard it. So much heart and melancholy in it. And although I love the vocoder I’d love to hear this song with clean vocals.

  3. The song that defines this whole era, the mysticism behind the album, Madonna’s “escaping” to Madame X... all the realizations she had when she moved to Lisbon is Extreme Occident. It’s extreme baffling why this is not on the regular edition. Medellin is a cute song but never the central piece or the representation of the monument that is Madame X, the album.

I love how she couldn't understand how the songs  ( in MADAME X ) were structured. I love how the album left her confused, befuddled, to the point where she at one time just laughed cause she couldn't grasp what the hell was going on. The girl was not ready for such a wild and unfamiliar ride. Perhaps she was looking forward to being cradled and soothed and comforted by the songs. Well that's not what she needed. She needed to be woken, and unfucked. That's what Madonna did to her. And then she went on to review MDNA and got brain unfucked yet again with GANG BANG. OH, it was such an exhilarating experience watching the reviewer. But I don't recommend watching her, cause she has a very predictable and limited perspective and I felt like I needed to read an encyclopedia or something profound immediately afterwards , cause I felt like I got dumber just from watching her.

Perfect. That girl is a representation of the general public.

To me there are 3 words that have lost their true meaning in describing art, music or people.  Cohesive, irrevelant and dated. I can't see that True Blue is cohesive at all and I adore True Blue. I don't really see how Madame X is cohesive either. Medellin, Dark Ballet, Crave, Crazy, Batuka, Extreme occidental and Idsif sound nothing like each other for example. Each song could be on several albums of Madonna's from the past.  Again, that is not an issue to me.

I respect though that others think differently. Just don't really see where Madame X is cohesive and with people saying they adore it because it is cohesive, I just don't see it.

The point is... it doesn’t matter if it’s cohesive or not. Just enjoy the ride. No matter how “non linear” it is. Enjoy the places the music takes you.

What I think is silly is some people saying they think cohesiveness sucks because Madonna’s last album is not cohesive. Or vice versa.

Precisely. Also I am not sure why people need to put down RH either by way of comparison, maybe the very same people whom four years ago raved about RH. Cohesive on Madonna's music does not hold significance to me either. Cohesive... reminds me of certain corporate types of people when they need to describe a team that works together, "cohesive". Barf.

Why the hate with cohesiveness? Ray of Light is a very cohesive album. So is True Blue. And Erotica. Why do you have to put down cohesiveness?

It also helps that MX doesn't have a bazillion deluxe editions like RH had. Sure, there's a deluxe, but it's much more contained and therefore more cohesive as one unit. Although I'm still mad Ciao Bella isn't on iTunes or Spotify.

Doesn’t Madame X have the same number of editions RH has?

  8. Oh my god... who’s saying this video is nothing special? That has got to be madonna’s greatest video... the raw emotion, the organic dancing... these ladies giving themselves completely to Madonna and Madonna herself completely absorbed with the music and the love coming from them. It’s truly moving and touching and when they finally get to the recording studio... what a JAM...

honestly, this is amazing. This video deserves awards. It’s beautifully shot and it shows us a Madonna in moments I’m sure she would’ve kept to herself. So generous of her. What a journey this Madame X era has been. Wow.

My mom passed away about 12 years ago. She was not into music at all, let alone English pop music. She was more into politics and history. But she was aware of my obsession with Madonna. I think she tolerated it, yet never commented on the ever-present Madonna music in the background at home and in the car as she drove me to work. One day she surprised me. We were in the car and as usual I insisted on putting on Madonna. And then out of the blue she said , ' THIS SONG I LIKE, IT'S ACCURATE.'  I was baffled and yet also felt like I finally converted my mother. But then i noticed a smirk on her face. Madonna was singing, ' AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY'M SO STUPID.'

Hahahaha! Your mom seemed to have a wicked sense of humor and refined sarcasm! Love it!! 🙂

No. Sometimes they’re better than him. Crave and Future are good examples of this.

Future has amazing production. No doubt. But even as good as it is, it doesn’t have the feeling and - specially - the chemistry the Mirwais produced stuff has.

I love the vocals of M and Swae Lee, love the guitar but wish it had been produced by Mirwais, he could have have made the track into something truly amazing.

The song is beyond amazing, but I agree that Mirwais would’ve taken it to the next level.

I know that a lot of people will jump on me for saying this but watching the show, although I enjoy it as a whole and I love that she brought back AL, I can't help but think how stiff and wooden she has become on stage. After the MDNA tour her performances have changed quite drastically, she moves very little and even the little she does, she seems uncomfortable and almost afraid to move. Obviously her age is a factor but even though she doesn't train as hard as she used to, she's still a very active person (she even rides horses) so it surprises me to see how little she does on stage. Even that "I dont search I find" video she posted on Instagram a few days ago shows she still has the moves!! So why not show more on stage??

The record is easily one of her best but her live performances this era have been very underwhelming in my opinion...

Maybe she feels insecure because of people like you that give her crap no matter what she does...

So, maybe she should not do anything at all, right? Lord knows she could. Then, what would you be complaining about? Madonna is a privilege and not a right. We’re not entitled to her.

Im just glad she is alive and performing and i enjoyed her performance ...

Exactly. We should give her all our love. She still gives a fuck and she’s doing it for us. She has all the money in the world, she’s broken all the records. She could be home, with her kids, drinking some rose... but she’s out there, doing it for the fans.
