  1. The only change I’ve made is that Come Alive comes before Faz Gostoso. I love how the other one ends with “come alive, come alive” and the other one starts “come baby come”. Other than that, I think the original sequencing is perfect.

  2. You could see that she was back home and felt at ease. I love that she was a bit crazy at times and that she explained the songs in detail. I had also been wondering which tracks came first, and now that we know, it’s only logical that Killers Who Are Partying was the first one. No wonder the record became so political. All in all, a lovely in-depth interview. It was definitely the rosé talking when she kept saying  “she just won’t shut up”. Maybe not entirely funny but classic Madonna. 😅

Fans have been expecting everything from her ALWAYS. But it's one thing to be disappointed and consider that other decision would be better, and another a drama that includes the wish she's booed and all that.

We've been years here commenting those things and wishful thinking but never have I read such comments!

Exactly. I find this discussion very disturbing. By being political and not sucking up to anyone Madonna is honoring the very essence of Pride. It's not just about making people feel happy, it's also about fighting back. That is also our duty because not everyone has the right to march and party afterwards. It's a privilege that we've fought for and we still have to fight for it. If Madonna indeed will sing these songs, she's merely expressing this and honoring the true legacy of Stonewall.

  4. So excited. Madonna is yet again her own muse, referencing to many of her previous videos, especially to Deeper and Deeper. That video had an eerie quality to it, with the crazy cult leader and all, but God Control seems to take things to whole new level with the club shooting. I'm glad she has the balls for this, it's like a long overdue resurrection of the original American Life video.

  5. My favorite Madonna interview in YEARS as the interviewer really knows her craft. The most insightful bit IMO is the one where they discuss Madonna being her own muse now. That explains why she's suddenly referencing so much to her own body of work. Before this, Madonna has not been that nostalgic, always preferring to move forward instead of looking back. I love it how she's now embracing and indeed reinventing her previous personas and videos while she's exploring uncharted territory, like she says. So it's because she's all alone now, with most of her peers dead. This brings even more depth to this great era.

  6. This track is both gorgeous and devastating. It really shakes me up and is probably her most painful lyric to date. I hate it when reviewers criticize her by saying that a privileged white woman shouldn't steal minority agendas. How cynical can one be? This song stems from common pain that we all share, regardless of wealth or color. Something about Killers reminds me of the political songs of the 70's, especially those from Latin America. That's probably just a coincidence but for all these reasons this if one of the tracks I cherish the most on this album.

I agree. It is a great song but it lacks something powerful. God Control has this something. It would have been the PERFECT first single but I understand the strategy Ms team adopted  (I suppose I do)

We can always try to understand at least. 😁 If they had chosen I Don't Search..., I think that Madonna would have been criticized for riding on nostalgia or something. It was better to go with something totally unexpected, which Medéllin was at least for me.

  8. I think this is a very catchy song, definitely a grower. I love how it sounds like an African tribal chant and builds up driven by a kind of primordial force. The drums are everything and it goes very well together with Future on the deluxe edition. This is not my type of music in general, so it’s a great example of how the queen is educating me. 😜

  9. I’ve listened to the album so many times already and I’m in awe of the sheer brilliance of it. It’s so multi-layered and multi-faceted and yet it manages to sound and feel so Madonna, not gimmicky at all. I didn’t have the time to go and buy the record in the morning so I decided to stream it while at the gym. I’m glad there was no one there as I was both dancing and crying depending on the song. Lifting the weights was easy compared to this wild ride on an emotional roller coaster. I really don’t remember when I was this excited about a new album by any artist, even Madonna. 💓

  10. I’m very proud of her too for releasing something so uncompromising. The video is stunning and devastating at the same time, and it has such a powerful message of redemption. I watched it with bated breath. I agree that Madonna feels present all the time even though you can’t see her, her fierceness just permeates everything and you really can see that she was in charge of making this as Mykki Blanco said. There’s so much anger and sadness and strength in the song and the video – pure Madonna indeed. I also love the references to the Blond Ambition era when she was also fighting all the preaching papas of the world.

  11. The Pride announcement made me so happy, she really deserves the spotlight for all that she’s done for the LGBTQ-community. I hope she finds a good balance between entertainment and politics in the show. At least a better balance than in the Eurovision performance. She certainly has the gay anthems and an audience that will love her. I’m looking forward to some mean voguing. :vogue:

Don't you think QUEEN MADONNA isn't thrilled by how the "rape" comment was portrayed in the article? basically making it seem like MADONNA is not entitled to speak like that....not knowing it's significance....and chastising her for it in the article?

THIS! The rape comment made me so mad, especially because it was tied to the age issue. So condescending. Also I do agree that there was way too much focus on her age, and I also think that the journalist seemed envious. They way she wrote about her young lovers and big houses and social media photographers. It felt like a part of her is a fan and a part of her hates Madonna because she is privileged. There certainly was a mean streak in the article, even though I did enjoy some of the analysis. All in all a disturbing read, and the rape comment was a massive brain fart.

The photos I love. Especially the one where she’s hugging her younger self is so touching.

I think I’m gonna try not to listen on streaming platforms once released, and wait until I get a physical copy at Target that Friday morning.

Same here. I’ll go and fetch my pre-order of the box set first thing in the morning and listen to the deluxe cd. It’s a much nicer experience when you get the whole product and can enjoy the artwork etc. while you’re listening. I have many similar experiences of past Madonna records, and I cherish those memories. After the first listening experience I’ll switch to Spotify again.
