  1. Wow at Cheryl's sales - hope she doesn't eclipse Kylie's first week sales but i think she might as she is selling 30k ( ) a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fact, think of all the fantastic pop songs she is going to outsell, assuming her sales stay strong over the coming weeks. It may even end up being the years top seller.

  2. I partially agree although the reaction to Robbie's performance seems to be unanimously negative so it could just be his diehards buying the track. I slagged his performance of on youtube and my email account has been innundated with angry responses from his fans - I'm talking hundreds within an hour!

I liked Cheryl last year but she really is starting to IRRITATE - I'm more than a little irked that she's going to have a big hit on the back of this, when she's no better than Posh.

Oh have a FABULOUS time, I love New York - I must go again soon.

Oh thanks, it is fabulous here.

Popped into Borders at Columbus and they had plenty of the DVD and CD. DVD was a whopping $29.99 - RIP OFF. Both CD versions were $18.99 which wasn't so bad.

Shame i will be missing Crappy Cheryl on Saturday but no doubt some painfully honest reviews will be posted here before I can catch the X Factor re runs on my return.

Great to see Madonna holding up in the album charts, despite the slew of new releases. Shame that the market as a whole seems to be falling during October - I am sure sales will pick up across the board around the end of the month (pay day).

  3. I am surprised that has been Robbie has shifted 40k plus with his average new single, despite the X Factor promo. It just shows that the X Factor really does help create immediate sales.

Alexandra's sales are amazing, boosted by the X Factor performance, but no doubt would have been huge anyway. I really hope her sales stay high enough to prevent Cheryl Cole from getting to number 1 next week. Crappy Cheryl is being allowed to perform on the X Factor so she too will have a major initial boost. Poor Dannii wasn't allowed to promote her shitty single a couple of years ago though I suppose Cheryl's song is better and she is the "golden child".

The rest of the midweeks will be interesting, though I am off to NYC tomorrow am for 6 nights so I doubt I will be online to check up the latest news.

  4. so this means that sales of the Celebration DVD SHOULD count with the CD sales... but it doesn't say here if those DVD sales would also count on a separate Video chart...

They don't. They are either combined with the CD for the album chart or will count as a separate sale for each chart.

Thanks to funkydita for confirming, though am shocked at how low DVD music sales are nowadays. No wonder I can't find the DVD for sale in any of my local supermarkets, only seen it in HMV or online.

Top 10 Music DVDs and Videos is compiled by The Official UK Charts Company

  6. According to one of the admins of Haven, the DVD is not charting on the DVD Music Videos Chart because its sales are counted as album sales.

Which explains the small % drop in last week's sales, since that was the first week of DVD sales.

I thought as much because this weeks sales have been way lower and the DVD wasn't showing in the top ten music DVD on the Radio 1 website, which shows the official top ten music DVD.

Oh well if she ends up with 30k this week, that is ok as the physical market is depressed, plus hopefully her sales next week will be similar/ not drop as much.

I wonder if there is a breakdown of sales for the DVD still?

  7. Latest midweeks, Babs is moving further ahead, sales for albums though are pretty poor.

  9. collapsed? u should bear in mind that it is on its third week... and with just 500 copies lagging from #1, it is worthy of applause actually...

Of course it is worthy of applause position wise, my post was specific to the 50% sales drop off Sunday and Monday compared to Friday and Saturday. Perhaps sales are missing? Hoping Madonna has a great Friday and Saturday again this coming week and recaptures number 1.

  10. ^ Yes, Saturdays or Chipmunk will be number 1.

Hoping Madonna will return to number 1, don't think any major new releases planned this week and she was outselling Paramore each day all last week after the first set of mids. Hope her sales stay around 50k plus too.

  11. Shame her sales just fell short this weekend, but great that she sold 50k plus week two with strong weekend sales once again. Hopefully sales will stay strong and she could return to the summit. Even TIC didn't manage that (though its 9 weeks at the top was AMAZING).

  12. I bought that video collection in my asda today.

They had single cd, double and DVD in the cd size case.

There were a few people looking at the cd. One girl said 'I'm going to get my mum this'

Think it's gonna sell solidly to Xmas

Do these DVD sales in the cd box count as DVD or cd sales?

How much was the DVD at Asda? None of my local supermarkets stock the DVD and HMV stores are charging 16.99 which is way too much.
