  1. I will give him credit for whatever contribution he made in regard to the writing. Musically though, I'm glad she went in a different direction. I'm not a music person so I don't really know how to explain it properly but the music has a lot of "depth" compared her last few albums. Some people are saying it's over-produced but I disagree. I love hearing the return of the deep bass and the prominent use of background vocals. As I have stated already, for me personally this album is already one of her greatest. I can't get over how good it is. There is very little I can fault on it.

Oh yes, the background vocals! Very welcome! :)

thanks to LindbergBoy at the MadonnaInfinity forum.

Thank you for that list. The leaks and variations have been exhausted so it has been hard to keep up. Bring on the album, already!

  3. I'm an ex-Queensland now exiled (!!) in Tasmania.

I saw her in Sydney during the Girlie Show (I am somewhere in the crowd in the footage of 'Girlie Show Down Under'!) and then again in Boston for 'The Drowned World Tour'. So, they are my only two live experiences of Madonna. From (dim) memory, they were both pretty good!

I am presently reading Molly Meldrum's biog, and Madonna is mentioned quite a bit. Yeah, it would be nice if they could do an interview together soon, especially since Molly's recovery from his accident.

My first sighting of Madonna was on 'Countdown' back in 1983 and my musical world has never been the same since!

  4. Yeah, the new mixes are nothing special but they're still so much better than pretty much all the dreadful MDNA remixes. I don't how they manage to come up with SO many unlistenable versions.

As many have said, the Offer Nissim mix starts OK but just descends to standard Eurobar bollocks. The Rizzo mix is OK although it's pitched at the hairdressers on a hen do in the West End audience. The Thrill mix just seems to go nowhere.

Are there no good remixers out there?

How I miss the nineties with Morales, Masters at Work, Tenaglia, Vasquez etc...

Now all they have is eurobar bollocks from Guetta, Avicii and Calvin Harris churning out the same generic remix for every song.

    I am hearing you!

  5. I try to avoid articles on Madonna in the press (online and in print) as the general tone is negative and degrading. More often, the pictures of Madonna are unflattering, to further shine a bad light. We live in a world where there is a perverse thrill in putting people down, demonizing them and creating a sense of unworthiness about their craft. I know Madonna is beyond all this.
